Unapologetic: Women’s Ceramics in the Land of Mingei-Sota, Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists Juried Exhibition
MNWCA invites its members to submit work to be considered for Unapologetic: Women’s Ceramics in the Land of Mingei-Sota, Minnesota Women Ceramic Artists Juried Exhibition. Jurors: Susan Beiner and Victoria Christen. Deadline: February 1, 2019
Description of Exhibition
This is a juried exhibition featuring utilitarian, sculptural and installation works by MNWCA members living in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Work must weight under 50 pounds. Work should not exceed 3 feet in height or 8 feet in length.
This will be MNWCA’s tenth exhibition since our founding in 2009. The exhibition will be held in the Third Floor Gallery at the Northrup King Building, 1500 Jackson Street NE, Minneapolis, MN, 55413. http://www.northrupkingbuilding.com/

About the Jurors
Victoria Christen lives in Portland, Oregon, where she is a full-time studio potter. She has been a resident artist at Guldagaard, the International Ceramics Research Center in Denmark and the Archie Bray Foundation, in Montana. She has given many workshops across the United States. Victoria has been the recipient of an NEA Regional Visual Arts Fellowship Award, two Minnesota State Arts Board Grants and a travel grant to Japan.
Susan Beiner received her MFA from The University of Michigan, and a BFA from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She currently teaches at Arizona State University. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and has received several awards and participated in residencies around the world.
Submission Process
Application Deadline: February 1, 2019 by 11:59 pm
You may submit up to 3 works for consideration with up to 2 images per work. For each work, this could be 1 view, 2 views, or 1 view and detail. Entry limit of 3 works. 6 images max. If you submit more than 3 works, only the first 3 will be juried.
Please be prepared to submit the following materials:
· Up to 6 images
·Image info for each image submitted. Include title, dimensions, medium/process, year of completion, and optional note about piece.

Accepted Work
Artists are responsible for all shipping fees and insurance of artwork during exhibition. Work must be ready to install with hardware and directions if needed. MNWCA reserves the right to exclude work not ready to hang and reserves the right to exclude accepted work that does not represent the digital file.
