LOCATION/CONTEXT: New Daybreak Library project located at 11300 Grandville Avenue, in South Jordan, Utah
PROJECT INTENT/THEME:
GOALS
The artwork selected for this project should address one or more of the following goals:
§ Contain the materials and form that visually depict; nature, community and learning.
§ Appeal to all age groups.
§ Fit in scale to the project site.
§ Be aesthetically compatible with the buildings architecture.
§ Be a quality work of art.
§ The work must be able to hold up and be easily maintained in a public setting.
It is the intent of the County to enter into a contract with an artist or artist team for this site to assure the project requirements are met, to assure the best value for the project, to assure the project budget is not exceeded, to expedite the project to completion and to encourage a unified approach by all members of the project team.

MEDIA/STYLE/SIZE: Exterior Sculpture Piece
BUDGET: up to $130,000
PROCESS: 2-Stage Process. The Selection Process is designed in two phases. For the first phase, artists are requested to submit a letter of interest including a brief written statement about how they would approach the project, up to ten images of relevant work, and biographical information. For the second phase finalists will be invited, with expense compensation, to travel to Salt Lake City to meet with the Selection Committee. They will have an opportunity to ask more detailed questions of the committee and will be asked their initial observations and response to the site.Eligibility: Open to all professional artists and/or artist-led teams. Interested artists must demonstrate a proficiency in executing work of similar scope and scale.
