ABOUT

Women & Textiles Expo Is a day-long event celebrating the many ways in which women are at the forefront of the handmade textile movement as leaders, designers, makers, textile engineers, authors, and purveyors of culture. The day includes presentations, hands-on workshops, installation art, a maker marketplace and an innovative wearable arts runway show.

We welcome women and those who identify as women to participate.

JURY

Jurors will be chosen from a pool of fiber / textile experts.

Work will be judged from digital images. Work which differs significantly from the image representing it will be disqualified.

SELECTION

Selection will be based on the overall quality of the work and its compliance with the standards stated in “Entry Requirements”.

PARTICIPANT NOTIFICATION

All participants including the Wait List will be notified of their status in email by January 20, 2019. Women and Textiles Expo 2019 will retain the submitted images (accepted and declined) and reserves the right to use the images in publicity.  Beyond such use, the designer / maker retains full copyright of submitted images.

WAIT LIST

Should any first round participant decline, cancel or not return the Confirmation Contract by January 31, the Expo Working Group will begin to notify the Wait List on February 1. Wait List status change notifications will occur on an ongoing basis.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Juried participants will be featured on the Expo’s social media including Facebook and Instagram.
