The cash awards will be as follows:  $4,000 First Place, $2,000 Second Place, $1,000 Third Place.  Entries must be original works by artists residing in Texas, done without supervision and completed in the last two (2) years.  Entries that have been in previous Assistance League of Houston competitive exhibitions are not eligible.  Entries must be suitable for a public, corporate setting.  Therefore, nudity, sexual suggestion, graphic violence, loud or disruptive noises etc. will not be exhibited.

 Please note our new requirements have changed since our last show January 2018, especially in regards to the size of work accepted.

 Entries must be submitted through café (CallForEntry.org).  Each artist is limited to four (4) entries.  All fields should be entered in order to submit your call to entry.  The date of execution of the work must be noted. The juror will make preliminary selections from entries.  No substitutions can be made after the juror’s selections.  Awards will be made from the actual works.  A nonrefundable entry fee of $15 is due for each entry (i.e. one entry is $15, four entries is $60) by October 31, 2018.  No checks, cash or money orders will be accepted.  All entries must be paid by credit card through the CaFE website. All work submitted must be available for sale at the time of submission.

Entries may be any medium, including painting, photography, sculpture and works on paper.  Works of art must not exceed a vertical height of 72” tall and 72” wide and, if chosen, must be complete and ready for hanging when received.  Sculpture must be no larger than 5’x5’ at the base and no more than 8’ high and weigh no more than 50 pounds.  Please do not submit works that hang from the ceiling or by large bolts or screws. The weight limit for wall hangings is 40 pounds.  Work requiring a pedestal surface area exceeding 18” x 18” must have pedestal supplied by the artist.

If the work requires power, it must be battery power and supplied by the artist. Works with audio must be submitted with an MP3 sound clip.

Delivery instructions for shipment will accompany notification of acceptance.  Any work that is shipped and received after January 11, 2019 will be returned unopened and shipped collect by commercial carrier to the originating address.   All works of art must be shipped in reusable containers and delivered by hand or commercial carrier directly to the forthcoming delivery address.  Any fragile submission, e.g. glass or ceramic or small pieces of any material that can be easily removed will not be insured unless protected by a vitrine or securely mounted by the artist.  Otherwise the artist must self insure the work, or sign a waiver of release.  Assistance League of Houston and Brookfield Properties will not be responsible for damage to ceramic or glass pieces.  Assistance League of Houston will not be responsible for damage to, loss or deterioration of any work while in transit.  All reasonable care will be given to each entry received.  Upon receipt, works will be insured until March 16, 2019, with the exceptions stated above.  Works will not be stored after March 30, 2019.

Twenty percent of the proceeds from sales during the show will go to benefit the philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Houston.
