"Capturing Bliss" is a juried group art exhibition at the Vanessa Lacy Gallery. Show will run from 2/8/19- 3/2/19. The theme of the show is "Capturing Bliss". We hope to find and display artwork about finding bliss in the now and living life to the fullest. Art that gives off the most blissful of vibes will be accepted into the show. We believe one major role for art is to fill homes and public places with inspiration, color, and joy.
We are also seeking musicians to perform at the opening. Musicians may submit audio files of their recodings. We are also seeking musicians to perform at the opening. Musicians may submit audio files of their recodings. We prefer jazz ambience style music. Budget for music is $100 for 6-8:30 pm on February 8th, 2019 with 30 minutes of breaks. However, musicians have the option to play from 5-9 if they would like to play the entire reception. We will put out a tip jar for the musicians to collect gratuity from the crowd as well.
The Vanessa Lacy Gallery is accepting any and all mediums and subjects, as long as they fit the "Chasing Bliss" theme. The deadline to submit to this call for entries is January 14th, 2019 at midnight MST. All artwork must be original and available for sale. No reproductions will be accepted, not including photography. Judge will be Teresa Dirks, a Kansas City artist. Gallery takes a 40% commission.
After the entries have been juried on January 14th, 2019, the accepted artists must bring their work to the Vanessa Lacy Gallery no sooner than January 30th and no later than February 5th, 2018 during our hours of business. Artists may also ship work to the Vanessa Lacy Gallery to arrive before February 5th, 2018. This show will have an opening reception from 5pm-9pm on Friday, February 8th, 2019 and a closing reception March 2nd, 2019 from 11am-3pm. Artists must pick up art during the closing reception or March 5th during gallery hours. Out of town artists must include a return shipping label with their shipped work. Any 2D artwork not framed and wired or ready for installation will not be accepted.
