Calling all high school–aged artists in our community: the Young Curators of the Roaring Fork are seeking artworks in any medium made by you!

2019 Exhibition Theme

Superstition

Four-leaf clovers, broken mirrors, and black cats.

What happens when we believe we can influence things that are outside of our control?

The Young Curators of the Roaring Fork invite artists to explore their own magical thinking. Artists can respond to beliefs that are personal, universal, or historical, through any artistic medium.

Submissions Due: February 19, 2019

Final Artwork Selection: March 12, 2019
Exhibition: April 13–28, 2019

About the Young Curators of the Roaring Fork Internship

Through the course of the six-month program, YCRF interns work directly with the museum’s Education and Curatorial staff, as well as visiting lecturers, ultimately building aesthetic valuation, leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.  The internship culminates in a museum exhibition of artworks created by their peers.

AAM education programs are made possible by the Questrom Education Fund.

Artist Requirements

Applicable to high school students living in the following counties: Pitkin, Eagle, and Garfield.

No late submissions will be accepted.

The Aspen Art Museum reserves the right to refuse artwork submissions.
