Artists are invited to submit artworks for DRAWN, a juried exhibition at George A. Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin, Missouri. Approximately 30 works will be selected for exhibition in Spiva’s Main Gallery.

Part invitational, part call for entry, DRAWN is exclusively a drawing show to celebrate experimentation while reminding viewers of the basic nature and value of the drawing process.

Artists are asked to submit works in any media relevant to the practice (including non-traditional approaches), in any style or any genre (fine art, illustration, design, conceptual, realistic, etc.).

The only criteria beyond high quality are that works are original, have never been exhibited at Spiva, and must qualify as drawing. In other words, the resultant work needs to be drawing, not a lithograph, not a photograph of a drawing, etc. Large work is encouraged.

A word about content: 1600 third graders will be viewing this exhibit. Often, it will be their first gallery experience. We ask that you refrain from graphic nudity and violence.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to every artist. Professionals as well as students are encouraged to enter.

CASH PRIZE

$500 1st Place

$300 2nd Place

$200 3rd Place

Judged by local, non-biased judge TBD.

SUBMITTING WORK

Spiva Center for the Arts assumes the right to reproduce any entry for publicity purposes related to this or future exhibitions.
