As America’s “Sweetheart City,” Loveland, CO is all about love, especially during February.  Despite its importance and profound effects on our lives, the subject of love is often expressed in worn-out cliches.  The Loveland Artist Collective would like to invite people to show love using the Steampunk Voice. Steampunk has its roots in the romantic Victorian age and expresses a desire to move beyond the norms and common culture through  futuristic usage of machinery grounded in the technology of the 19th Century. “Love in a Steampunk World” will feature work in the Steampunk genre in response to the idea of love as expressed in the following quotes.

“Love unlocks doors and opens windows that weren't even there before.” --Mignon McLaughlin

“I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.” --Vincent Van Gogh

Artists will be on display at the 4th St. Gallery in downtown Loveland during the month of February.  This exhibit will be promoted and included in the Loveland Sweetheart Festival, 2/8-9. The festival is expected to bring 35,000 visitors along with the normal foot traffic Loveland receives during this important month.

This show will be juried by renowned Steampunk artist, Ed Kidera.
