LA Printmaking (LAPS) is a national non-profit artist run organization based in Los Angeles, California, dedicated to the encouragement of printmaking, the interests of artists who make prints, and the general advancement of printmaking in public awareness and education.

LA Printmaking is dedicated to presenting exhibitions with themes focusing on issues of the 21st Century, especially those dealing with the environment during a time of incredible change and disruption. This year our exhibition is titled “Sweet Earth/ Bitter Earth” to reflect the relationship we have with our planet Earth; a symbol for love and pain, growth and destruction, magnificent and intimate, our relationship is a personal one, and often of our own creation.

JUROR:
A Printmaking is honored to have the well known Los Angeles-based multi-media artist, Merion Estes, as our juror for this exhibition. Estes was the subject of a powerful 20 year retrospective recently on view at the Craft and Folk Art Museum; "Merion Estes:Unnatural Disasters". As Christopher Knight, of the LA Times observed, "in Este's extravagant paintings, not only do exquisite nature, abhorrent degradation, opulence and death coincide. They are inseparable.”
VENUE:

The LA Printmaking Spring exhibtion will be at the beautiful and historic Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock.
THEME:
This year our theme on the
environment is titled “Sweet Earth/ Bitter Earth” to reflect the relationship we have with our planet Earth; a symbol for love and pain, growth and destruction, magnificent and intimate, our relationship is a personal one, and often of our own creation.
