This competition is open to anyone in the United States at any skill level but must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Photographs made within the last 5 years are eligible with any kind of camera or imaging device.  We (the jurors of this competition) understand the necessity of the Digital Darkroom and its role in workflow, but reserve the right to reject works that we feel are overly or heavily composited from multiple exposures.  However hi dynamic range, star stacking, panoramas and focus stacking composite are acceptable. We are looking for works that celebrate the beauty, architecture, history and location of Point Betsie.

All work must include within the photograph a portion of the main lighthouse structure.  Up to 3 images may be submitted, the first being a $30 entry fee and $10 for each additional entry up to 3 total.  Fees are non-refundable. A diptych, triptych or panorama can be submitted as one entry as long as it meets the same requirements as a single entry (limited to 768 square inches) and is photographed as a single entry for submission. All accepted photographs must be matted or floated under glass or acrylic, framed in a wood or metal frame, and wired for hanging. Clip type frames are unacceptable.  The maximum size of the framed photograph cannot exceed 24” x 32” (or 768 square inches).   A diptych or triptych must fit into one frame.   The artist must assign a sale price or mark pieces NFS.  The sales commission to the Point Betsie Gift Shop Gallery is 30% and they will handle all sales transactions.  Prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission to the show is made.

Submission are digital files of your photographs through this website www.CallForEntry.org.  File requirements are to send files as a JPG, under 5MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side.  Entries will be juried for the $1000 Grand Prize by Mark Lindsey of Traverse City MI, Jay Burt of Frankfort MI and Steve Loveless of Beulah MI.  All 3 are working artists who portray Point Betsie Lighthouse in their own work. 

All entries will recieve an "invited" or "not invited" response by end of day June 11.

Accepted works can be delivered in person or can be sent to Point Betsie Lighthouse, 3701 Point Betsie Rd, Frankfort, MI 49635 between June 21st and June 28th, 2019 via UPS only. Sent works must include return label, packaging and paid shipping and insurance. Any shipped works that do not include return packaging will not be returned.  Any artwork unclaimed 30 days after the date of exhibition closing will become property of The Friends of Point Betsie Lighthouse, Inc.  

Accepted artwork should be clean and ready to hang with appropriate picture wire and hardware.  If we feel your work is misrepresented, we reserve the right to refuse to hang the artwork.  No changes to title, price, etc. will be permitted after jurying.  All artwork must be identified on the back with the artist's name, address, phone or email and the artwork title. 
Winners will be notified on opening day of the show by email.
Awards will be presented on August 6th, 2019 at Point Betsie Lighthouse.
Cash prizes are as follows:
Jury will determine the $1000 Grand Prize winner.
Lighthouse visitors will determine the $500 first place, $250 second place and $100 third place winners.  Visitors must purchase lighthouse ticket to vote
The Friends of Point Betsie Lighthouse, Inc., board members, volunteers, and employees are not responsible for insurance, theft, damage or loss of any art work.  The exhibit gallery is under video surveillance but will not have a staff member present at all times.
