CALL FOR ENTRIES
Open to all  United States resident artists 18 and over. You are invited to submit digital images of up to nine (9) of your original works, not previously shown in a Marin Society of Artists (MSA) juried exhibition. Open to all media except video, film and installation art. Only online entries with digitally uploaded images will be accepted. Digital entries must be RECEIVED via online application BEFORE JULY 22, 2019 MIDNIGHT MOUNTAIN TIME. [please note that general information will only be available until 5 PM].  Notification will be by email and an online list of accepted artwork. Keep a copy of this Prospectus for dates and our web address. MSA members: no volunteer hours required to enter.

 JUROR  Susan Snyder
Susan Snyder holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri.
Since 1983, she has been a partner at Caldwell Snyder Gallery with locations in San Francisco and St. Helena, California, and represents 45 mid career and emerging contemporary artists. She is an active member of the San Francisco Art Dealers Association.  Susan has juried several shows, including MarinMOCA, Sausalito and Mill Valley Art Festivals.  CaldwellSnyder.com

FEES
A non-refundable entry fee will be charged. Maximum of nine (9) entries per artist. Entry fee for Non-members:  $55 for three pieces; $5 for each additional piece up to 6 pieces. Special rate for Marin Society of Artists members*: $45 for three pieces; $5 for each additional piece up to 6 pieces.  Diptychs and triptychs count as one piece; use only one image of entire diptych or triptych. Fee payment does not guarantee that any/all artworks submitted for jurying will be included in this exhibition.
*MSA members with vouchers, contact shows@msartists.org for coupon code. Vouchers do not cover 100% of entry fee.

SIZE LIMITATION
Art work size limitation  2D work not to exceed 60" in height or width, including frame; total weight, with frame, cannot exceed 50 pounds. 3D work not to exceed 48"x 48 x 48"; cannot exceed 50 pounds. Waivers can be requested and may or may not be granted. See “Specifications and Policy for Exhibited Artwork” for additional requirements.

ENTRY PROCEDURE AND DIGITAL IMAGE FORMAT
Digital entries ONLY at:  https://www.marinsocietyofartists.org/sea-to-shining-sea.  From this page you can link to “Specifications and Policy for Exhibited Artwork”, printable “Prospectus” and “Show Entry”. Show entry is through CaFÉ.  If you have already registered with CaFÉ, you may use your existing username and password to enter this show.
 
All entries must adhere to CaFÉ requirements:
•    Format: JPEG or JPG only
•    Dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side. Anything larger than 1200 pixels will be resized to fit the limitations.
•    Size: under 5 MB

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
All accepted artwork must conform to “Specifications and Policy for Exhibited Artwork” available on our web site. Any work that does not meet these criteria will not be displayed in the exhibition. All properly prepared entries will be viewed and judged. The decision of the juror is final.

AWARDS
First Place:             $ 500
Second Place:        $ 250
Third Place:            $ 125
Non-monetary Honorable Mention awards, may be given at Juror’s discretion.

ACCEPTED ENTRIES
Online notification, in addition to email, of accepted art work will be available on the date indicated. Please check our website at https://www.marinsocietyofartists.org/sea-to-shining-sea for a list of work accepted to the exhibition. The submitted, original, art work must closely represent the quality of the digital images for showing in the exhibition, must be the size as stated on your entry form, and must be clean and ready to exhibit. If your work is misrepresented in any way – meaning the submitted image diverges greatly from what the work actually looks like in color, shape, or dimensions etc., we reserve the right to refuse to hang the artwork.  No changes to title, price or other material information will be permitted after Jurying of art work. Wet or unfinished work will not be accepted.  We do not accept commercial reproductions or giclee prints (photographs and digital work accepted). Only original artwork juried into the show will be accepted - no substitutions.   Any framed work should be properly framed, clean and ready to hang.

All art work is to remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. No artwork is to be removed before the closing of the exhibition on the date indicated above. MSA reserves the right not to display accepted work that arrives in non-display condition (dirty, damaged, coming out of the frame, over size limits, or otherwise not ready for display). ART WORK DELIVERY (Shipping instructions must be followed exactly)
Delivery of accepted artwork can be made in one of two ways:
•    Shipping: Must be received by MSA before 3pm Pacific Time on Thursday, September 5.  No Monday or Tuesday deliveries as gallery is closed. Shipping address:  Marin Society of Artists,  1515 3rd Street, San Rafael, CA 94901
•    Include a PREPAID return shipping label (with barcode label) with your work in a reusable carton or crate. Works submitted without same will not be returned to the artist.
•    Do not send checks or stamps or your credit card number with your work in lieu of a prepaid shipping label.  COD entries will not be accepted.
•    Do NOT pack in Styrofoam peanuts or other similar loose packaging materials.
•    Hand delivery: MSA will accept hand delivery of accepted art work on Sunday, September 8 , from 1:00pm to  3:00 pm, and Monday, September 9, from 10:00am to 1:00pm Pacific Time.

SALES
By submitting work for exhibit, the exhibitor authorizes MSA to sell such work for the “Show Price” indicated for each work on the entry form. After a sale occurs MSA will reimburse the exhibitor an amount equal to the “Show Price” less 40% commission for Non-members and less 30% commission for MSA members.

LEGAL
Entry into exhibition constitutes agreement with the following:
Artists whose work(s) sell for a cumulative amount of $600, or more, must supply a completed W-9 form to Marin Society of Artists. [1099 IRS regulations].
Marin Society of Artists, its officers, directors and/or volunteers will not be responsible for loss or damage to art work, however caused. MSA suggests that participants carry separate insurance.   
Entries are reviewed for possible use in advertising and promoting the exhibition (invitations, newsletters, press releases, and other advertising). Your entry into the exhibition will constitute your consent to the possible use of your images for such purposes.
Artists leaving their work after the pickup date will be charged $5 per day, per piece, for storage. MSA will not be responsible for hand-delivered artwork left after the pickup dates unless arrangements have been made with the show chairpersons. Without such special arrangement, works left beyond 15 days will be considered a donation to MSA.

REMOVAL OF ARTWORK
All shipped artwork will be returned during the week of  October 7.  The pickup dates for hand delivered work are Sunday, October 6 between 4:00pm and 6:00pm and Monday, October 7 between 10:00am and  1:00pm Pacific Time.
