LEGAL AGREEMENT Eligibility: This call for entry is open to any artist working in the US who is 18 years or older. Media: Works must be original within the previous two years. Works submitted must not have been previously shown in any exhibition at the Ann Arbor Art Center. Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee of $35 entitles each artist to submit their work for consideration. ONLY credit and debit card payments are accepted; no cash or check payments will be accepted. Each $35 entry fee entitles the artist to one submission of up to three images. Images can represent up to three artworks in a single view, or one-two artworks in multiple views. Notification: All artists will be notified of juror selections via the email address provided in CaFE. Agreement: Accepted artists must complete and sign a consignment agreement and media form before leaving their artwork with the gallery. Sales: The Art Center retains 50% commission on sold work. Artists should price their work accordingly. Commission payments are mailed on the 15th of the month following the sale. Artists are responsible for obtaining and providing necessary work authorizations in order for payment to be processed, i.e. W9 or W8-BEN forms. Presentation: Accepted artworks must arrive “ready to hang” – the Art Center reserves the right to decline artworks that do not meet gallery standards or do not accurately represent digital submission. Artists are expected to provide components necessary for special/nontraditional installations. Technology: Artists are expected to provide necessary tech equipment for their installation. Equipment that is sent on loan should be listed as “non-consignment inventory” on page 2 of the Consignment Agreement. The Art Center has limited tech equipment available for exhibitions. Requests for use of Art Center equipment are on a first-come, first-served basis. Delivery: Works may be hand-delivered or shipped UPS, USPS or FedEx. If shipping, the artist is responsible for complying with all regulations pertaining to works of art. An artist desiring return shipment of artwork must arrange for return shipping prior to the close of the show. Return shipment will be packaged using the same packing materials in which they were shipped. Otherwise, works must be delivered and picked up by the artist on the dates specified in the calendar. Artists are responsible for all shipping and return shipping costs, including insurance or any prepaid return shipping that is no longer valid or sufficient. Duration: Accepted work may not be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition. Liability: Every precaution will be taken to assure the protection of artwork; however, the Art Center is not responsible for loss or damage including any damage that may occur during shipping. Photography: The Ann Arbor Art Center reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries for use in the online catalog and for publicity purposes. Transparency: At any point during the duration of the exhibition, artworks may be moved to ensure safety during special events and facility rentals. Artists are responsible for communicating with gallery staff any special handling instructions. In the rare event that artwork is damaged by a gallery visitor, the artist will be asked to determine if the artwork is repairable and estimate repair costs. Agreement: Sending an entry to this competition shall constitute the agreement with all conditions in this prospectus. How to Enter: All materials, including entry fees and images, must be submitted in digital format through CaFÉ™ at CallForEntry.org. CaFÉ™ is a non-profit, online, centralized portfolio manager that can be used for many different calls for entries and grant applications. Artists create an online portfolio and apply images from it to this call for entries.
