SUBJECT MATTER SHOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND

                                                CONVEY HOPE, LOVE, JOY, SAFETY AND CALMNESS.

Size/Dimension: No larger than 24 inches by 48 inches for 2-dimensional works.

 Please state sizes, framed and unframed, dimensions and weights of 3-dimensional works, and display requirements if any.                         

SELECTION PROCESS (see above for dates/deadlines)

Artists may submit up to 10 works for consideration. One image per piece is appropriate in most cases, however if necessary (3D works as an example) will likely require more than one view.  Please follow all guidelines provided by CAFE as to image size and quality.

A jury of artists and individuals from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois will review all submitted works for appropriateness, presentation and overall quality. Artists will be notified of their selection.  All works not purchased by donors at the event will be available for pick up on November 15, 2019. Details will be provided.

OVERVIEW

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois “Art Gala Exhibition and Event” will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Peoria, Illinois at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.

This special philanthropic event celebrates the opening of the organization’s newest and largest facility to date to be located at 401 NE Monroe, Peoria, IL 61604.  The 40,000 square-foot Ronald McDonald House will provide meals and overnight accommodations, at no charge, for the families and their children whose loved ones are patients in area hospitals. The children range in age from newborns to youth through their 22nd birthday.

Approximately 165 works of art will be selected to support a healing, nurturing environment.  The majority of the work will be located in the common areas and hallways. Each of the 22 private rooms will have five works that are thematically related. These may be the works of one or more artists. Exterior works of art will also be selected for the Art Gala exhibition.

Members of Farnsworth Group, our designers, local artists, arts advocates, friends of our charity and community leaders helped make this a reality.”

THE EVENT

This event has been inspired by our collective goal to provide a safe, happy, healing environment, enriched by original art, to benefit our families and children and to engage as many citizens as possible in helping us fulfill our mission.

The “Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois Art Gala” will feature the original work of central Illinois artists which has been specifically selected for our new Peoria Ronald McDonald House. Guests at the event will have the fun of selecting one or more works of art for placement in the new home.  Individuals, collective groups of friends and families, organizations and businesses will be able to choose which piece(s) they want to sponsor.  Here is how this works: Guests will fund the purchases by making a tax-deductible donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois.  The charity will pay the artists in full for their artwork. No commission is deducted. As always, outright donations may be made to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois.
