Connections Matter - August 2019 at Imurj - Call for Art

A visual art exhibit about the connections in a person’s life and how impactful they are for support, happiness and overall well- being.

Imurj has partnered with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina to highlight the importance of connections in a child’s/family’s life. Connections matter! Science tells us, that one caring adult makes all the difference in a child’s life, buffering adversity and building resilience (this can lead to strengths and good outcomes when we take positive steps to build relationships forming connections that build healthy brains, relationships and community.)    When we invest in supporting children and their families, together we can build safe and nurturing communities.

We are looking for work inspired by, portraying, interpreting, or otherwise approaching connections and bonds between people, why they matter. What is the positive change that happens when people truly connect.

We are building a visual art exhibit demonstrating why connections matter, whether it was from personal experience or your interpretation.

This juried, national exhibition will be on display in Imurj’s Main Gallery for the month of August, 2019.
