Intersect Arts Center seeks entries for an art exhibition that will be held in conjunction with STL’s CommUNITY Arts Festival, September 7-8, 2019. This exhibition will touch on the issues of community/violence/awareness but also look at conflict resolution, healing, and restoration.
Regional artists, within 250 miles, are encouraged to submit 3-5 works; 2D/ 3D in any media (including new media), that fits with the theme of the overall goal of the festival which is to use art as a means to communicate, educate, and heal our community.
Works submitted by July 4th will be considered for exhibition.

Artwork Drop Off August 26th and 27th 9am-6pm and August 24th from 10-4pm
Opening: September 7th with Community Arts Festival which runs through September 8th
This Agreement is made between the artist and Intersect Arts Center, hereby referred to as (“IAC”). Artist is interested in having artwork shown and potentially sold on a consignment basis by IAC, and IAC is interested in showing and potentially selling Artist’s work on a consignment basis upon the following terms:
1. Consignment/Price/Commission. Artist’s work shall be held on consignment with IAC and offered for sale at the retail price provided by the artist. IAC will receive 30% of the retail sale price and the Artist will receive 70%. No discounts shall be given by the IAC without artist’s permission and any discounts will be split between the IAC and the artist’s percentage of retail. Artwork does not have to be for sale, but artists must provide a retail value. Artist’s work is and shall remain the sole property of Artist until sold.
2. Reproduction. Except as stated below and to the extent permitted by law, the artist shall retain all rights to reproduction of work. Sale of the material object does not constitute transfer of the Artist’s copyrights, unless otherwise agreed to between the Artist and purchaser. IAC reserves the right to use images of the work in any marketing materials, and any online platforms, use of work in this way does not expire.
3. Term. This Agreement shall be effective commencing on the date hereof, July 4th, 2019 and shall remain in effect through October 8th, 2019.
4. Expenses. Any expenses resulting from exhibition of work shall be allocated between the parties according to the following percentages:
Shipping of work to IAC : ARTIST
Advertising : IAC
Announcements : IAC
Framing : ARTIST
Special constructions : ARTIST
Photography for PR : IAC
Opening reception : IAC
Shipping to purchaser : ARTIST
Return shipping : ARTIST
(Unless agreed upon in advance and in writing, the mere inclusion of the above-listed items in the foregoing list shall not obligate IAC to perform any such task or incur any such expense for the purpose of selling Artist’s work.)
5. Payment. Except as stated below the Artist shall be paid for all work sold within 30 days of the sale. No arrangements for installment payments by a purchaser will be made without the Artist’s approval. The art will remain in the possession of IAC until final payment is made.
6. Insurance. There is no insurance offered as part of this exhibition. Standard shipping insurance will apply.
7. Assignment. This Agreement is not assignable by either party.
8. Gallery Use and Expectations: IAC reserves the right to move, reconfigure, remove, or add in any works throughout the course of the exhibition.
9. Entry Fee. The entry fee is non-refundable.
10. Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. Any modifications in this
Agreement must be in writing, dated and signed by the Artist and IAC.
