The Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show attracts works by contemporary artists across the country and is judged by a guest juror of national stature. Resulting Purchase Awards have built an impressive Permanent Collection at Del Mar College.
This year's 54th show runs Februrary 21, 2020, opening reception 6-8 p.m., and closes May 8, 2020. Accepted artwork is displayed in the distinctive Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery.
ABOUT THE JUROR
Katherine Liontas-Warren, Professor of Art at Cameron University has been a resident of Oklahoma since 1984, where she teaches drawing, watercolor, and printmaking. She has a Master of Fine Art from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Connecticut. Katherine Liontas-Warren was awarded the Oklahoma Governor's Art and Education Award in Oklahoma City at the State Capitol in 2014. She is also a recipient of the Bhattacharya Research Excellence Award, the Cameron University Faculty Hall of Fame, and the Phi Kappa Phi Distinguished Faculty. Katherine received the title of Artist of the Year by the Paseo Art Association in Oklahoma City and the Artist and Educator of the Year through the Lawton Arts and Humanities Council. Katherine has exhibited her works of art in over 400 National Solo, Invitational and Juried Competitive Exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad, and has received numerous purchase and juried awards.
ELIGIBLE ENTRIES
The exhibition is open to all* U.S. artists. Only work created in the last three years can be entered. Previously exhibited works in the Annual Show will not be eligible. Each artist may submit three works. All accepted artwork can be considered for purchase.
*Del Mar College full-time Art faculty are excluded.
ENTRY PROCEDURE - ONLINE ONLY
All submissions will be through Callforentry.org (www.callforentry.org). Entries must be submitted on or before November 29, 2019. No entries will be accepted after this date.
FEE
$20 fee for up to three entries only. 2-D entries upload one image. Sculpture entries upload up to two images. All fees are non-refundable and payable through Callforentry.org.

ACCEPTED WORK
Artists will be notified via email by January 3, 2020. Status updates can be found by logging into your CaFE account. The juror may elect to reject artwork after arrival.
2-D ARTWORK
All original works on paper will be considered, this includes drawing, printmaking in traditional media, original watercolor, and photography. Professional presentation of accepted artwork is required. Acetate covering is acceptable with white museum quality mat board with at least 2" mounting and over-mat visible on all sides. To ensure consistency in presentation, if your work is framed, please use simple frames. Mail framed works with Plexiglass ONLY. Artwork must be mailed in stiff, reusable cardboard packaging, securely packed to insure safe delivery (no peanuts). All 2-D works must fit inside a mailing cardboard/crate that does not exceed 108 inches (length plus girth) and not exceed 70 lbs. in weight.
SCULPTURE
Sculptures of any media will be considered. However, sculptures requiring ceiling suspended installation will not be accepted. Accepted sculptures should be securely packed within one crate to insure safe delivery. If crate is wooden, use screws-not nails or bolts-to secure lid. All sculptures must fit inside a mailing crate that does not exceed 108 inches (length plus girth) and not exceed 70 lbs. in weight.
SIZE AND MAILING SPECIFICATIONS
Acceptance to the 54th Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show is an agreement by the artist to all terms set forth in this "Call for Entries." Permission is granted to photograph and reproduce artwork for the catalog, other print or electronic media; future show promotions; education, and publicity.

- Crates and artwork that do not meet size requirement will be returned.
- Mail framed works with Plexiglass ONLY.
- Work may be sent to Del Mar College by any transportation mode, including hand delivery, but only artwork that can be returned UPS and USPS will considered for the exhibition. Hand-delivered work can be picked up after exhibition closes.
- Accepted work needs to arrive before February 7, 2020.
- All works submitted are at the artist's own responsibility; any insurance must be arranged by the artist while artwork is in transit and for the duration of the show.
- All accepted artwork will be handled with professional care; however, staff, volunteers and Del Mar College cannot be responsible for any loss or damage.
- Damaged crates will remain unopened pending notification of the carrier and artist.
- Work unclaimed by artist at return address listed on crate is not the responsibility of Del Mar College.
