Honolulu Printmakers invites all print artists residing in the state of Hawai'i to participate in our 92nd Annual Exhibition by submitting up to 5 entries for jurying. This exhibition presents a carefully juried selection of the best print work from artists around the state of Hawaii working in traditional printmaking media as well as contemporary forms and hybrids. Yoonmi Nam of the University of Kansas will be the juror, and the exhibition will run from January 15 - February 14, 2020, at the Honolulu Museum of Art School main gallery. The entry period will be from September 23- December 8, 2019. Work will be juried in the first week of December, and notifications will be sent on or around December 15, 2019.

Discounted entry fees are available for current members of Honolulu Printmakers (i.e. memberships valid through 12/1/2019) and for current university students with valid ID. See below for details.

Note: for your convenience, you can pay for a membership here when you pay for your entries, as well in person or at honoluluprintmakers.org.

JUROR: Yoonmi Nam, University of Kansas

MEDIA POLICY
This exhibition seeks print works in all printmaking media, including lithographs, screenprints, relief prints, intaglio, monoprints, letterpress, artists books, digital prints and print-based installations.  We encourage experimentation and the generation of a dialogue about what printmaking is and can be.  The Honolulu Printmakers reserve the right to exclude work deemed not to meet these criteria. Work must have been created within the last three years and may not have been previously shown in a juried exhibition on Oahu.

JURYING AND NOTIFICATION
Work submitted to callforentry.org for jurying should be 100% complete at the time of upload, and should be accurately and truthfully represented by images. Do not submit digitally re-touched images or simulated drafts of projected work. Note that each distinct piece is a single entry. In the case of polyptychs-- e.g. a diptych-- multiple prints must be contained within a single frame to count as one piece. Honolulu Printmakers and the juror reserve the right to exclude delivered work that deviates from how it was presented at the time of jurying.

DETAIL IMAGES
if you submit an image that is a detail of a larger piece it will be counted as one of your 5 entries. For clarity, make sure that you indicate in the file name that the image is a detail of another entry. For example: "starrynight_detail.jpg"

SUBMISSION PERIOD
Work can only be submitted for jurying from September 23 - December 8, 2019. Accepted artists will be notified on or around December 15, 2019.

DELIVERY
Accepted prints are to be delivered framed and presented with wire or other necessary hardware for hanging, and must meet the professional and aesthetic criteria of the exhibition committee. NO CLIP FRAMES ALLOWED. Work that is not to be hung on a wall must have some method to secure it against accident or theft. Artists whose work presents unusual or difficult requirements due to size, format or method of presentation will be required to submit an installation plan, provide all hardware, and install their own pieces under the supervision of the exhibition committee, at a prearranged time. Please call Duncan Dempster at 536-5507 before entry day if you have work that is not traditionally framed or hung with wire. Accepted work that does not meet the above conditions will NOT be accepted for installation.
