The Cape Cod Museum of Art invites visual artists to submit artwork for an exhibition titled: INTERIORS 

INTERIORS can mean various things to different people. It can be a representational viewpoint from inside a home, workplace, studio or cafe - often it can have a nostalgic sensibility or invoke a feeling of security. A person might identify with a place of worship, or even a forest, to express their internal self.  Internalized feelings and emotions may resonate within an artwork. How would you express the concept of interior?

JUROR: We are honored to have  Andre van der Wende as our juror for this National Juried Exhibition!  Andre was born in Balcultha, New Zealand. He received his BFA in Painting and Photography from Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand (1987), and his MFA in Painting and Printmakeing from the University of Connecticut, Storrs (1993).  Andre is also a certified Yoga instructor and an established arts writer/critic having contributed nearly 300 reviews and features for numerous publications over a 20 year period. He is currently a contributing writer for Provincetown Arts Magazine, and is represented by the Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown, MA

Juror’s Choice Award: $200.00
2 Honorable Mentions: $50.00 each

In addition to the award, awardees' will be recognized on the museum's website and social media. Up to 40 artists will be selected to exhibit their work and will likewise receive recognition for their participation on our website.

Opening Reception: January 24, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm

ELIGIBILITY:  Open to artists working in 2D and 3D media, drawing, painting, printing, photography, collage, assemblage and sculpture. Only original works may be submitted (Giclee prints of reproduced art works are not acceptable. Digital photography is acceptable, and digital print methods may be used to produce original photographic images). This call for submission is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.

SUBMISSIONS AND FEES: The entry fee is $40 for up to three (3) submissions and is non-refundable. A completed application must contain: One High-Res Digital Image per Artwork Submitted (between 1mb and 5mb files), Title of Work(s), Year(s) Completed, Medium(s) and Dimensions and Artist's Statement (up to 100 words). 

SPECIFICATION FOR SUBMITTED ART WORK:
• Maximum size for 2D work is 48" x 48" (including the frame). All 2D artwork must be suitably framed to a professional standard. If needed, only Plexiglas (no glass) will be accepted due to high breakage rates during shipping, unless you deliver and pick-up your art at the museum personally. Assemblage work does not require a frame. NO ART WITH SAW TOOTH HANGERS, GALLLERY CLIPS OR TAPED EDGES WILL BE ACCEPTED. 2D work must be wired and ready to hang. 
• Maximum size for Free Standing 3D work: 72"h x 36"w x 36"d.
• Maximum size for Pedestal 3D work: 38”h x 18"w x18"d.
• A label or card must be securely affixed to 3D work and on the back of 2D work that indicates: ARTIST'S NAME, TITLE, MEDIUM, DATE CREATED & INSURANCE VALUE. We will use this information (without the value) for our wall labels, so please be sure it is correct.
• Works that DO NOT adhere to these guidelines will not be exhibited. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the exhibition.

DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS:
All work to be delivered to the museum and mailed work received on or before January 10, 2020. Work must be shipped by UPS or USPS ONLY. NO FEDEX...Work must be packed in REUSABLE containers with PRE-PAID return shipping label enclosed. Please DO NOT use Styrofoam popcorn/peanuts for packing. Artists are responsible to pay for the delivery and return shipping of their work.
