The Brookings Public Arts Commission,  in partnership with the City of Brookings, SD, seeks an artist to design, fabricate and install 2D artwork in an interior public area of the shared use City/County building. The available installation (wall) space itself is 10' wide x 6' high, but the artist does not need to cover the entire square foot area. The artist may choose to propose a single piece of art, diptych, triptych, etc...  The piece(s) will be in a high foot traffic area, so care should be taken that the artwork and frame (if used) not extend too far into the walkway. The proposal may be conceptual at this point, but do indicate how the concept will honor the history, cultures and current experiences of Brookings County, SD residents. Also, please indicate what medium will be used and provide images of previously completed work.

Detailed specifications and images of the space will be provided once an artist is selected. The selected artist will be asked to create permanent artwork that honors the history, cultures, and current experience of Brookings County, SD residents.
This call is open to all artists living or working in South Dakota or a neighboring state. (Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota).  Students are not eligible to apply.
