Artspace111 is pleased to announce an open call for submissions for the 7th annual Artspace111 Texas Juried Exhibition, juried by Kristen Gaylord, Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The competition includes eligibility for 2D and 3D artwork. The exhibition will be open June 27th through July 25th with an opening reception on the evening of June 27th. Due date for entries is Monday, May 18th. Contemporary 2D and 3D works that follow the requirements detailed in the prospectus are eligible for acceptance, artwork selected by the juror from the eligible submissions will be included in the exhibition at Artspace111 and are eligible for cash awards. A total of $5000 will be awarded to the best works in show, and the first prize will include the opportunity to exhibit at Artspace111 in a separate solo or group exhibition in 2020-2021.

2D Eligibility & Medium
- Open to artists 18 years and older residing in the state of Texas.
- Contemporary original 2D work in any media including painting, prints, drawings, photography and digital images.
- 2D work should not exceed a framed size of 48” in the longest dimension.
- All work must be original (no reproductions), produced within the last two years and not previously shown at Artspace111.
- The digital image of the piece submitted must be the piece delivered to Artspace111 if selected by the jury. NO EXCEPTIONS.
3D Eligibility & Medium
- Open to artists 18 years and older residing in the state of Texas.
- Contemporary original 3D work in any media. Please indicate Indoor or Outdoor.
- 3D work intended to hang on a wall cannot exceed 48 x 48". Free standing indoor work cannot exceed 6 feet in any dimension. Free standing outdoor work must come with proper base for installation.
- All work must be original (no reproductions), produced within the last two years and not previously shown at Artspace111.
- The digital image of the piece submitted must be the piece delivered to Artspace111 if selected by the jury. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Awards
Selected artists invited to exhibit in the Texas Juried Exhibition in June 2020.
Cash prizes totaling $5000 including "Best In Show" and special jury awards.
Best In Show Award - $2,000 prize, and an opportunity to participate in an Artspace111 exhibition in 2020 - 2021.
Sales
- All pieces will be for sale at Artspace111. The gallery will retain 50% commission on any work sold.
- Price of work should include the commission to the gallery.
Added Benefit:
In order to support Texas artists, Artspace111 is ADDING A BENEFIT TO ALL ENTRANTS of the 2020 Texas Juried Exhibition. Every artwork entered for consideration will have the opportunity to be included in Artspace111’s online shop - regardless if your work gets accepted into the 7th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition. This online sale will take place for one month after the close of the 7th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition from July 27 – August 29, 2020.
During that time, collectors may browse and purchase artwork directly from the Artspace111 website. We will be promoting the sale heavily to our network of art collectors. Our intent is give all those who enter the call a platform through Artspace111 to make sales. Artists shall receive 70% of the proceeds of a sale, and will handle the delivery of the artwork to the client. This additional opportunity is optional, but we hope you will participate. With this in mind, please make sure the images you submit or have submitted are of the highest quality as we will be using those images you provide online.
Insurance & Liability
- Work will be insured at Artspace111 but not in transit.
- The gallery will not assume responsibility for work improperly framed or poorly packaged for shipping.
- Images of accepted work may be used for promotional purposes and featured in an exhibition marketing material.
Shipping/ Installation Requirements
- 2D and 3D Artists are responsible for shipping work to and from the gallery.
- Shipping instructions will be emailed following the jury process.
- Your work of art should be ready to install and should have hardware installed that will allow for immediate installation by the gallery with no adjustments to the pieces necessary. NO EXCEPTIONS — ARTWORK MUST HAVE HARDWARE INSTALLED FOR IMMEDIATE INSTALLATION.
About the Juror:
Kristen Gaylord was appointed Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in 2018, where she has organized Set in Motion: Camille Utterback and Art That Moves (2019) and Looking In: Photography from the Outside, which is open until May 10. Gaylord was previously at The Museum of Modern Art, where she contributed to numerous exhibitions and publications including Ocean of Images: New Photography 2015 (2015); Arbus Friedlander Winogrand: New Documents, 1967 (2017); and Stephen Shore (2017). She was also the inaugural curator of the Duke House Exhibition Series at New York University, where she organizedIntertwined (2016) and Beatrice Glow: Spice Roots/Routes (2017). Gaylord was previously a research assistant at the Willem de Kooning Foundation, and has taught at the Museum of the City of New York, Ramapo College of New Jersey, Kingsborough Community College, and NYU. She earned her master’s degree at NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts, where she is currently a PhD candidate.
