CALL FOR ENTRIES:EXPRESSIONS 2020 A National Juried Fine Arts ONLINE SHOW presented by the Marin Society of Artists (MSA), a non-profit artist organization since 1927 dedicated to promoting the arts and providing a broad array of arts opportunities. MSA presents a full schedule of exhibitions in its main gallery highlighting a variety of artistic expression - painting, sculpture, photography and more. The EXPRESSIONS 2020 ONLINE GALLERY show will run May 14-June 27, 2020.
EXPRESSIONS 2020 is open to all artists residing in the United States, age 18 and over. You are invited to submit digital images of up to a total of Ten (10) of your original works, not previously shown in a Marin Society of Artists juried exhibition. This call invites artists to interpret their ideas, thoughts, emotions; what they see, feel and express through their art. Open to painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, art of the book, fiber art and all types of fine art crafts, ceramics and more. No video, film or installations accepted. Only online entries with digitally uploaded images to CaFE will be accepted. Digitial entries must be RECEIVED via the CaFE application by Monday, April 20, 2020 before 11:59pm Mountain Time. Notification of acceptance will be by email and an online list of accepted artwork entries on the MSA website.

JUROR:
Andrea Schwartz, Founder/President, Andrea Schwartz Gallery, San Francisco, CA. Andrea Schwartz graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1977 with a BFA. Her background as an artist has assisted in her understanding of the perspectives and idiosyncrasies of the art world. For over thirty-five years, the Andrea Schwartz Gallery has supported work that is challenging and at the forefront of contemporary practice, representing a select group of mid-career artists from the Bay Area and throughout the country. AWARDS:
First Prize: $500. Second Prize: $300. Third Prize: $100. Three non-monetary Honorable Mention awards may be given at the Juror's discretion.
ENTRY DETAILS: A non-refundable entry fee will be charged.
Non-members: $35 for 3 entries, $7 for each additional entry up to (10) pieces.
MSA members: $30 for 3 entries, $7 for each additional entry up to (10) pieces.
Payments to be made by credit card, debit (VISA or MC) or PayPal through the CaFE application. Diptychs and triptychs count as one piece, use only one image of the entire diptych or triptych. Fee payment does not guarantee that any/all artworks submitted for jurying will be included in the exhibition. Note: MSA members with vouchers, contact shows@msartists.org for a coupon code. Vouchers do not cover 100% of the entry fee.
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS:
All properly prepared entries (refer to digital file image requirements) will be viewed and judged by the juror. The decision of the juror is final. No more than 2 works by any one artist will be included in the final juried selection. NOTE: Marin Society of Artists has no prohibition against displaying art depicting nudity or political issues. However, it reserves the right to refuse artwork which, in the opinion of the Board of Directors will be offensive to visitors or any of its members.
ENTRY PROCEDURE AND DIGITAL IMAGE FORMAT:
Entry instructions may be found on our website: https://www.marinsocietyofartists.org or on CaFE. If you are already registered with CaFE, you may use your existing username and password to enter this show. All entries must be submitted with digital images and must adhere to CaFE requirements.
Your entries must first be uploaded to "My Portfolio" on the CaFE application. You then choose images from your "Portfolio" to be entered in EXPRESSIONS 2020.
- Image Format: JPG or JPEG
- Dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side. CaFE may readjust your dimensions after entry to fit the limitations.
- Size: under 5 MB

CALENDAR SCHEDULE:
Digital Entries Deadline: Monday, April 20, 2020 before 11:59pm Mountain Time Zone
Notification of Accepted Entries: Thursday, May 7, 2020 (midnight PDT). Notification by email and a list of accepted artwork entries will also be posted on MSA website at https://www.marinsocietyofartists.org For Artists, Expressions 2020.
Show Opens: Thursday, May 14, 2020 (online gallery)
Show Closes: Saturday, June 27, 2020 (online gallery)
ACCEPTED ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS:
Artists will receive email notices of accepted artwork by May 7, 2020, (by midnight PST). A SEPARATE email notice will be sent on the same date showing non-accepted artwork. In addition, a list of the accepted artwork will be posted on the MSA website. If your work is misrepresented, we reserve the right to refuse to feature your artwork on the Online Gallery. No changes to title, price, or other material information will be permitted after April 20, 2020.
SALES:
By submitting work for exhibition, the Artist chooses to offer their work for sale. The Artist's email contact information will be posted along with their artwork image on the Online Gallery show so that the Artist can be contacted by potential buyers. The Artist may "opt to decline" having their email contact information posted with their entry by indicating such on their CaFE entry. The "Show Price" indicated for each work on the entry form will be the list price for said work on the Online Gallery Show. This price does not include shipping and handling costs. The artist will handle the sale of their artwork and shipping thereof. Any interested purchaser will contact the artist directly regarding purchase of artist's work. 100% of the sale of work will go to the artist; no commission to MSA.
