Spark Gallery, Denver's original cooperative art gallery, was established in 1979 as an alternative to traditional commercial galleries. True to its original mission, SPARK fosters a spirit of artistic risk-taking and exploration. Located in the vibrant Art District on Santa Fe, Spark is home to member artists who work in a wide range of media and include faculty at Colorado universities, colleges and art schools.

Spark Gallery proudly presents COLORADO DRAWS, a Juried Exhibition, open to Colorado artists who work with drawing in any medium. Drawing is often viewed as preparation for further work. This time, we celebrate drawing itself and the fundamental beauty of mark-making. From pre-history to DaVinci and Klee to Koons, drawing is part of virtually every artist's repertoire. The style and subject may range from Abstraction to Realism on any theme, in 2D expression.  Show us your best drawing work!

In-person gallery hours will be complimented by a professionally produced virtual tour for distribution.

Our juror is Louise Martorano, award-winning Executive Director of RedLine, a contemporary art center and residency fostering angagement between artists and communities to create positive social change. Under her leadership, Redline received awards including the Denver Mayor's Award for Excellence in the Arts (2014 & 2015). She has organized and presented over 100 exhibitions over the past 10 years. Recognized by the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation in 2017 with a Livingston Fellowship for promising non-profit leaders, Martarano also sits on the advisory committee at Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design.

Entry Fee: $35 for up to 3 pieces (1 to 3 images.) Please follow CAFE regulations for image uploads.
Entry Specifications:
    --2-Dimensional work not to exceed 38" in width, 108" in height.
    --All work must be wired and ready to hang. (No sawtooth hangers.)

Spark Gallery will not be responsible for any return shipping costs. 
Prepaid return packaging must be included with the accepted work.

Pickup or return shipping: 
Artists may pick up their artwork closing day, Sunday, Feb 28, 2021 from 1 - 4 pm. Unsold, pre-paid return-postage work will be returned over the following week.

Commission will not be taken for sold works.  Spark Gallery will assist artists in the sale of their work.  A credit card fee will be charged on credit card sales.
