We are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Spring Small Works Show at Vanessa Lacy Gallery! Artwork of all media and genre are eligible to apply so long as the artwork is 14" or less in all dimensions. Frames for 2D art and bases for 3D art are not included in the 14". Artwork is chosen based on merit and as space allows in the gallery. Artwork promoting hate, violence, or obscene nudity will not be accepted. In previous small works shows we have housed artwork by more than 50 different artists.
Exhibit will be held at Vanessa Lacy Gallery located in the historic Kansas City Livestock Exchange Building 1600 Genessee Street, Unit 161, Kansas City, Missouri 64102. Due to concerns over the spread of the Corona Virus, this show will not have an opening reception. Each piece of artwork will be featured online via Facebook, Instagram, and the gallery website so it can be promoted and purchased online. Visitors can still see the artwork in person by making an appointment for a private viewing.
Vanessa will hold a "virtual reception" at 5 pm on April 17th by posting a live video to share with our online followers.
The opening reception will take place on April 17th from 5-9 pm and the show will run until May 9th, 2020. Artists who are invited to participate must have their artwork delivered by 5 pm Tuesday, April 14th or sooner. Jury results will come out Monday evening on April 6th, giving artists one week to ship or drop off artwork. Artists who ship their work to the gallery are responsible for shipping and insuring their work. Artists must provide a return shipping label in the box with their work so the gallery can promptly return unsold artwork at the completion of the show. Gallery takes 40% commission from the prices artists provide on Call For Entry. 2D artwork must have a wire on the back and be framed and ready to hang. Artwork that is not ready to hang or display upon arrival, or artwork arriving damaged, will not be shown. Please take care to package your artwork with care so that it makes the journey safely. Gallery is not responsible for theft or damages occuring during shipping or exhibition. Please insure your work accordingly. Please provide re-packaging instructions for delicate work with complex packaging so it can be returned to you in the same condition in which it arrived to the gallery.
