ELIGIBILITY: The Lakeland Art Guild 50th Annual Melvin Art Exhibition is open to all artists working in the United States.  Up to three (3) works may be entered, works may be of any medium (except giclees, video, and performance).  All works must be original. Entries must have been completed within the last five years. Please do not enter any artwork that has previously won an award at a prior Melvin Gallery Art Exhibition event. It will not be accepted.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's exhibition will be an ONLINE exhibition, running from May 14, 2022, through June 4, 2022. The exhibition will not be held at the gallery's location. This exhibition will be accessible on YouTube, Instagram, and the Lakeland Art Guild's Facebook page. Participating artists will be notified via email with the specific links.

Through the generosity of Lakeland Art Guild Supporters, the Melvin Gallery Exhibition intends to offer the following awards.

Exhibition Requirements:

​Artists age 18 and over with residences in the United States are eligible. Membership with the Lakeland Art Guild is NOT required.

Each artist may submit up to three (3) pieces of art.

The entry fee for 1-3 pieces is $40.00 for Non-Members, and $30 for LAG members (with Promo/Coupon Code).The entry fee is non-refundable. Artwork that has won an award in a previous Melvin Gallery Art Exhibition is not eligible.

All artwork must be original.

All artwork must be appropriate for the general public. The Lakeland Art Guild reserves the right to not accept work that may be deemed inappropriate.

All artwork must be the sole work and exclusive property of the submitting artist.

This is a virtual exhibition.  The original physical art remains in the possession of the artist. All artworks listed for sale must be kept readily available.

Host Location:
This is an online exhibition. It will be hosted by the Lakeland Art Guild and will be accessible through the Lakeland Art Guild's website, Facebook Page, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.  Artists who enter will receive an email with the specific links. Artists who enter will be invited to the Awards Announcement and Judges critique via Zoom.

In addition to these requirements, it is important to follow the procedures below very carefully, especially where they relate to naming your images for this exhibition. 

Procedures and Details: 

• Submission for this exhibition is handled exclusively through CaFE.  All submitted artwork must be uploaded to this site.  One to three pieces of artwork can be submitted. Artists who encounter technical difficulties can request help from CaFE staff at http://cafe@westaf.org. Questions related to the exhibit can be sent to Denise Settles or Ron Horn via email, lakelandartguild.onlineshows@gmail.com.
• The artwork images you submit via the cafe portfolio must be specifically named for this exhibition. Please follow this format; using the initial of your first name and full last name, and then title of the piece submitted; if your name is John Doe, the entry is named JDoe_Title.
• It is very important that artists upload only one photo for each piece of art being submitted.  Please check that the artwork is properly oriented in the photo, that the frame or other peripheral objects are not included.  Attention should also be given if there is a glare, which is a common issue when photographing artwork.  The juror will select the Award Winners through these digital photos that are submitted.

CaFE had specific requirements regarding the file sizes of the photo submitted.  Follow their directions or contact their staff. In short photos can not exceed 5MB and the resolution must be 72dpi.

Notification: All entering artists will receive email notification containing further information and links when the CaFE deadline for submissions has passed.

Sales: Sales inquiries will be conveyed through the Lakeland Art Guild to the artist. Price the painting to include framing. There is a 30% commission on all sales. The artist will transact the sale (with sales tax if needed), and arrange delivery or shipping with the buyer.

USE OF SELECTED WORKS:
In submitting work for consideration, all entrants give permission to the Lakeland Art Guild 50th Annual Melvin Gallery Art Exhibition to use images of selected works for promotional purposes.
