Slice: A Juried Exhibit of Regional Art 2020

ELIGIBILITY AND MEDIA:
The Pence’s Slice exhibit, now in its 8th year, is open to artists residing in California. This is an ‘open theme’ juried exhibit, which showcases art that is conceptually thoughtful, technically skilled, and representative of contemporary trends in art. Work may be in any medium, but must not exceed 36” wide for 2D work. There are no size restrictions for three-dimensional work. Work must not exceed 100 lb, and must be ready to install. Works on paper are accepted providing they are framed, or have hardware to safely display them. Accepted work should be original, completed within the past five years, and remain at the Pence during the entire exhibit. The work must not have been shown at the Pence previously. Applicants must submit between 1-3 images of work for review, along with an artist statement, at www.callforentry.org, and pay a fee of $30, or $35 for non-Pence members.

DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK:
Accepted work may be hand-delivered on July 5th, or shipped and insured by the artist to the Pence by July 3rd. Expenses for shipping to and from the Gallery are the responsibility of the artist.  Artists can include a prepaid label for return shipping.

MERIT AWARDS:
Monetary awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded based on the Juror’s choice and are $400, $300 and $200.

LIABILITY:
The Pence Gallery will insure all artwork while it is on the premises, through August 16. Each artist must complete an artist's contract when they are accepted. All work must be picked up or shipped, between August 17-18, unless other arrangements are made.
