Punching Marshmallows
Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop & Gallery invites printmakers and photographers from around the world to submit work for our exhibition, “Punching Marshmallows: Rage, Uncertainty and Fatigue” to be held at Remarque Print Workshop and Gallery in Albuquerque, NM from July 10th – August 29th, 2020
The call:
Punching Marshmallows” is a call for hand-printed photographic imagery using “alternative processes”, such as: photogravure, photopolymer intaglio, cyanotype, gum bichromate, carbon, salt, lumen, anthotype, gumoil, etc; basically, any alternative to straight digital printing. We are looking for images that explore the boundaries between photography and printmaking and that involve some form of hand-work. The theme of “Punching Marshmallows” can be widely interpreted...literally, figuratively, expressively, psychologically, visually, etc. In this time of political dissonance and social distance we are looking for images that explore the feelings of frustration, helplessness, fear and anger that so typify the current moment.

If you have any questions about the suitability of your process, please do not hesitate to contact us at director@remarqueprintshop.com.
