Axis Gallery invites you to submit work that honors and celebrates platonic intimacy, touch, and tenderness.
In a time of oversaturated digital interaction, social isolation, and unintentional solitude, the exhibition Con Cariño/ With Tenderness, is an ode to the importance of face to face interaction, of touch and intimacy, and genuine vulnerability in the presence of others. How do we bring people together? How do we celebrate the people around us? How do we reiterate our need for intimacy? How do we thoughtfully exist in social and public spaces?
For this open call, we invite artists to submit work that is radically thinking about caring and togetherness.
We plan to present this exhibit in our gallery space in downtown Sacramento. However, as you are no doubt aware, public health directives can shift rapidly, so the exhibit may shift to an alternative format if necessary. If your work is selected, we may ask you to provide a high-resolution image of your work.
