Exhibition dates are October 2021 (Formerly, March 2021. Unfortunately, many on our staff and their families caught covid19 between Christmas and the New Year so we had to postpone. We appologize for the inconvenience, but the symptoms are lastsing 3-5 weeks for most people and the timing of the work needed to be done before March would not be possible.)

Deadline is April 20, 2021. Results of artists winning a place in the online show will be by June 10, 2021. Results of winning billboard artists will be announced by August 15, 2021. You must be able to provide high resolution photos of any accepted image. 

This exhibition is in honor of Women’s History Month. Much history is missing from the feminine perspective, and the accomplishments and contributions by women to culture and society are sparcely documented. This includes the visual arts. A recent survey by the National Museum of Women in the Arts of 18 major museums in the US found that over 75% of the art displayed at these institutions is done by white male artists. This is a social and economic disadvantage to women and minorities. As a woman artist, what do you have to say from a female perspective? What would you like heard? What issues are important to you as a woman? How does living in a global patriarchy make you feel? Express these sentiments through your medium and let the world hear you roar! Please note that the jury is looking for a creative and profound expression of these ideas, not cliche vagina imagery, symbolism, or things painted in pink.

All media are being considered. However, as the finalists will be on billboards, please note that the actual images of your work is what is being reviewed so good quality and clear photographs that highlight your work is essential. Paint it, digitize it, draw it, creatie it with fiber, even sculpt it. This is an all-media exhibition.

PRIZES:
Top 4 artworks will receive billboard time on one of the busiest highways in metro-Detroit. This is a great way to receive expensive and broad exposure for your art. The top 25 artworks will be included in an online gallery where your artwork can be sold. 

Who Can Submit?
This is a national call for art by women artists 21 and older. The sponsoring foundation will retain 35% of the sale of any artwork. Please price accordingly on your CaFE application as that is the pricing that we will use in the online gallery.

You may submit up to three individual works of art for consideration. Works will be judged separately and on their own merits. Criterea under consideration is: Concept, Composition, Technique, Execution, Elements of Design, Uniqueness, Photo Clarity of the work, Billboard Potential, and Relatedness to our Theme.

If Your Work Is Selected:
We prefer works that are for sale and you must price your own artwork.  Please remember that from the price that you set here on CaFE, we will deduct 35% to go to Art As Healing Foundation. If an artwork is sold the artist is responsible for shipping it to the buyer. Also, 6% will be added upon the sale for Michigan Sales Tax. We will also add shipping charges per the artist's guidance. 

We will notify all participating artists of any reception and or special events affliated with this exhibition once the day and time are established. 

Any images submitted into the event may be used to promote the exhibition, Art As Healing Foundation, Art Fair Fun, or future events promoted by these entities.  

Accepted artists will be notified by 6/10/21.

Jury/Application Fee is non-refundable.
