Disjecta's 6,000 square foot exhibition space will provide the key venue for Portland2012, but the exhibition will be expanded to partnering spaces for satellite exhibitions. In keeping with the growing hybridization of contemporary practice, the exhibition may include visual arts, new media, as well as performance-based works. Selected artists will each be given a small stipend, which may be used to create new work for the exhibition. The exhibition will be supported by a catalog.

All Oregon artists are invited to submit examples of their recent work. The curator will review applications and conduct studio visits before announcing selected artists in early fall.

DISJECTA
Disjecta Interdisciplinary Art Center is a nonprofit organization formed to provide essential resources for artists to create and exhibit new work. Disjecta provides an interdisciplinary exhibition space for the presentation of vital, emerging visual and performing arts on a local, regional, national and international level.

Roberts has curated, consulted and contributed essays for exhibitions at the Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle, the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, The Art Gym at Marylhurst University and The Portland Art Museum, where she served as curator of American art from 1987 to 2000. She is an instructor of art history at Portland Community College.

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, artists must have lived in Oregon as a primary residence for the last two years.

DEADLINE
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. The deadline for submissions is 11:59PM, MDT (Mountain Daylight Time), August 12, 2011. All materials must be submitted through CaFE™ (www.callforentry.org)

ENTRY PROCEDURE
Applications are only accepted through CaFE™ (www.callforentry.org). While the curator may select artists by means other than application, all interested artists are strongly encouraged to apply.

Artists will be asked to submit the following materials:

1. Two-Page Resume as a PDF. For collective applications, include 2-page resumes for each member.

2. Exactly 10 Images* of recent work (uploaded as JPEG files). Regrettably, moving image files will not be accepted. Artists specializing in kinetic or sound works should describe the action of the piece in the Image Identification List. Disjecta may contact you to submit additional documentation.
* If you do not have the required 10 images, go to www.callforentry.org/blankimage/blankimage.jpg. Save the blank image as a jpeg file and add it to your image bank to use as many times as needed in order to provide the required images for the application.

3. Image Identification List (uploaded as a PDF) that provides project title, date completed, media, dimensions, project partners if any, brief description of the project/conceptual information.

4. (Optional) Artist Statement of Interest. In 2000 or less characters and spaces, describe your current practice and/or interest in the Biennial.
