Deadline is rolling. The deadline to be juried in the next round is Monday, May 3, 2021.

Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI) is inviting Boulder County based artists to submit images for consideration.  Artists should submit images of existing work rather than creating something specifically for the project.  All submitted work will be reviewed by a jury selected by DBCI.  Work will be evaluated for artistic excellence and project compatibility.  The most compatible artwork is that which fits easily on a regular sized door (narrow portrait pieces work best).  Artists should feel free to pre-crop their work to their liking and submit in this aspect ratio.  Selected art will be included in a catalog that project sponsors may select from for inclusion in the project.

Once an image is selected for inclusion in the project, it will be printed on vinyl and attached to doors. DBCI will request high resolution images of the work from artists selected for doors and may need access to the original art to obtain the highest possible quality. Artists will retain the rights to the work and will be credited via a small sign at/near the door and on the Alley Gallery website (BoulderAlleyGallery.org). Artists will also receive a small stipend. 

Please do not submit pieces you don't own or don't know for sure you will have access to for a high res photograph or scan.  Existing public art in the area is not appropriate for this project. Do not submit any work that you are not comfortable altering in small ways, as pieces may need to be cropped to fit the requirements of the doors.

Property owners throughout the downtown district are invited to participate in the project as sponsors by covering the cost of their specific door installation and contributing to the Alley Gallery Fund – to facilitate maintenance and furthering of the project.
