Join us in Tubac for five days of discovery, learning, and camaraderie at the historic Rancho Santa Cruz in southern Arizona. The ranch is approximately one hour south of Tucson, on the Santa Cruz River in a magnificent grove of cottonwood trees. This year’s instructor, Denyse Fenelon, is an accomplished southwestern plein air painter and experienced teacher. She will lead a 3-part workshop during the week and be available to provide guidance and feedback in preparation for the artists’ exhibition at the Tubac Center of the Arts.

All mediums are welcome, and instruction will be geared towards a beginning professional level; some experience is recommended.

Workshop: “Painting in the Colorist Tradition”
Denyse Fenelon will lead a 3-part workshop focused on seeing and
painting approaches based on light and color of the Impressionists.
Learn the foundation needed to paint any subject by seeing the
relationship of value, temperature and chroma (intensity) which
create the quality of light for any subject. Composition, subject
choice, color harmony and painting skills will be taught including
demonstrations, materials, equipment set-up and technology.
