Competition: Virtual POP - Paint Out Poulsbo is a Virtual event. There is NO ENTRY FEE. Peninsula Music & Arts Society wants to ensure our youth in Kitsap County are recognized for their artistic talents during this time of uncertain educational opportunities.
Peninsula Music & Art Society (PMAS), is a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts through scholarships, information, shows and educational opportunities for the Kitsap County communities since 1994. In these unprecedented times, we celebrate the gift of the arts by offering a free virtual art competition and exhibition this year.

WHO MAY ENTER THE COMPETITION?

Eligibility submission: 2D student artists living in or attending school in Kitsap county are eligible. You may enter three pieces. All entries must be submitted digitally after March 31, 2021 and by the application deadline May 7th, via CallforEntry.org for jury consideration. Café is a free service and provides a comprehensive “help” area. Please follow the application instructions listed in this Call. Work must have been completed within the last year after June 6, 2020.

Application Requirements: The following submissions are acceptable. Categories: (1) Traditional Art – Painting; Watercolor; Drawing; Mixed media. (2) Digital Art – Fractal/Algorithmic; 2D Computer Graphics; Photo-painting; Digital Collage; 2D Digital Painting; Manual Vector Drawing; Integrated Art/Mixed Media and Hybrid Painting; Raster Painting; Computer-Generated Painting.

The artwork will be juried by a panel of local and regional professional artists during the qualification process beginning on May 7, 2021. Artists will be notified by May 22, 2021 of accepted digital entries via CaFE™ email. Work cannot be based on copyrighted or previously published materials.

Image Guidelines:. Your images should give a sense of how your piece “hangs”. Detailed images with highest resolution of both Traditional Art or Digital Art, will show best in virtual exhibition and are important to show the technical excellence of the work.

WHERE WILL THE WORK BE SEEN?
The entered and juried pieces will be seen on PMAS' website. Within the age category group, only the artist’s first name, title of their artwork, with any “Artist’s Statements” about the piece, will be displayed. No personal information will be used or distributed by any means. The public will be able to view the show from May 15th through May 21, 2021.

  • May 15, 2021 Notification of acceptance by email via CaFE™
  • May 15, 2021 - May 21, 2021 Public viewing and People’s Choice voting at peninsulamusicart.com
  • May 22, 2021 Judges determine winning entries
  • June 5, 2021 Cash Prize and Awards Ceremony via Zoom (time TBD)
  • June 8, 2021 Award Checks mailed to Artist's address on file.

Awards: Artists will be eligible for up to $1,550 in awards, Plus Exhibition attendees can win $100 if they enter the FaceBook raffle when they “LIKE” Peninsula Music & Arts FaceBook page at https://www.facebook.com/PeninsulaMusicandArtsSociety/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
