OUTDOOR EXHIBITION ELIGIBILITY:

The DownEast National Juried OUTDOOR Sculpture exhibition is open to all artists ages 18 and up. All entries must be submitted digitally, by Saturday November 21, 2020.
Work should be large scale to fit one of the 13 sculpture pads in various locations. Sculpture pads range from 4’x5’ to 10’ in diameter. Artists must be available to install and uninstall their own work. They may have some help from the entity where the sculpture is placed. All work must remain on exhibit from the end of February 2021 through the end of February 2022. Work must be able to be exhibited outdoors and utilize materials that are exterior grade.

ENTRIES & FEES:

Each artist may submit up to 3 entries for the total of $20. Additional entries cost $5 per entry with a limit of 6 total. All entries must be submitted digitally and received by Saturday, November 21, 2020. Images of work must be submitted as jpgs. Emerge Gallery will retain a 40% commission (30% for East Carolina University students). If work is not for sale, an insurance value must be given and NFS stated or work will not be insured.

DROP OFF & PICK UP:

Installation and uninstallation of accepted work will be coordinated by the exhibiting entities. Aid with instillation may be offered by the exhibiting entity, but liability and arts insurance will not be covered until after installation and until removed. Contracts for a one-year term will be conducted with each entity and the chosen artists typically for one year from the last week in February 2021 until the last week in February 2022.

PRIZES:
Each sculpture placement will be awarded $1,000. Additional award prizes include:
1st Place: $1,500
2nd Place: $750
3rd Place: $500

Their award-winning work has been published in Sculpture, Architectural Record, Landscape Architecture, Eco-Structure, Landscape Journal, Land Forum, and other publications.

INSURANCE:
Work will be insured by the presenting entities. Liability insurance is required by the City of Greenville’s site; however, the other sites will be covered by the presenting entity. There are 13 sculpture pads total within Pitt County. Work will be insured only for 60 percent of the sales price and only for the exhibition dates (does not include installation and uninstallation.) Insurance value must be a realistic value and may be questioned. Proof of similar sales will be asked for if necessary. Consent to reproduce for publicity, catalog, or educational purposes is assumed unless specifically reserved in writing. Submission of entry constitutes agreement to all conditions.
