Legal agreement: 1. Professional artists 18 years old & up, residing in the US, may submit via CaFE digital images of 1-5 images, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited at DMAContemporary. 2. Entries will be accepted, per the description posted in the prospectus. Please note that giclee images reproducing works made in another media are not permitted. (i.e. photo reprints of a watercolor). Works which do not present the image of the café entry or are not of the prospectus media will not be displayed. 3. All entries must be of original design and execution, and the artist must be the sole owner of the artwork; however works owned by the artist may be loaned from a gallery of which the artist is affiliated. 4. All work must be received installation-ready with appropriate hanging devises or hardware, preferably hanging wire or D-rings. NO sawtooth hangers or photo frames with folding desk displays. All work must be appropriately framed, and drawings/watercolors are preferred to be exhibited under glass or plexi. Other alternative display methods may be allowed, so long as there is prior approval/agreement with the Director, who is the Exhibit installer. Example, drawings and photos have been presented affixed to the wall with brackets, nails and magnets, without frame and glass; and a recent stained glass work was presented hanging from ceiling hooks. NOTE: use of glass is at the risk of the artist, (see liability #6 & #8). 5. Unframed images on canvas will be considered, so long as the canvas edges are free of commercial stapling and are wider than the narrow ¾ inch commercial canvas stretchers; otherwise unpainted or painted edges or image printed edges are acceptable. 6. Neither DMAContemporary or its staff are responsible for faulty hangers or mounts on framed or unframed works. Frames, mats & wiring must be professional quality & in good condition. Wires must be securely fashioned & support weights of the artwork. Framed or unframed artwork, improperly or poorly mounted artwork, panels or canvases without a secured wire hanger and/or D-rings are not be covered by our limited liability insurance. DMAContemporary is not responsible for artwork damage occurring in shipping, or due to natural disasters while on display (i.e. earthquake, flood, fire, tornado). 7. All shipped artwork must include a return label from Artist’s preferred courier (e.g. FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.). Parcel packaging must be suitable to re-use for return shipping. Absolutely no packing peanuts! Artwork sent through the US Postal Service, must include a prepaid shipping label, or required postage. . 8. The Artist is responsible for round-trip shipping and handling costs, packaging and transport insurance of artworks. DMAContemporary is not responsible for artwork damaged or lost during shipping. Damage to artwork may not be noticeable upon arrival; the gallery will be diligent in documenting all damage caused in transport (whether upon arrival or when artwork is unpacked). The Director will notify the Artist as soon as possible if damage during transport has occurred. It is the sole discretion of the Director as to whether damaged art may be repaired (i.e. replacement of broken glass) and still be included in the exhibit. 9. DMAContemporary reserves the right to refuse artwork(s) that are not professionally presented, securely mounted and/or that do not resemble original online submissions. If an Artist’s artwork(s) are refused due to any of the conditions stated above, upon arrival to the gallery, the Artist is not entitled to reimbursement(s). Any costs and/or fees associated with the exhibition are non-refundable (i.e. submissions, applications, artwork preparation and/or packaging, shipping and handling, exhibition preparation, etc.). 10. The Artist agrees accepted/shipped artwork is to remain onsite of the DMAContemporary for the duration specified in the prospectus. Artists should make every effort to see that the artwork is received on time, or pro-actively coordinate art receipt with the Director for exhibition inclusion. Artwork may not be withdrawn early. DMAContemporary will make every effort to comply with the return shipping time frame. 11. Artwork must be picked up in person or have proper return shipping ability, per re-usable packing container and proper return label (see #6 & 7). If artwork on loan to DMAContemporary is lacking proper return shipping and/or packaging, and is not claimed in person, or artist does not make acceptable return arrangements within 45 days of the close of the exhibition and/or term agreement, the work or works will be considered forfeited by the Artist. Forfeited artwork becomes the property of DMAContemporary. 12. The DMAContemporary will not take any commission on works sold during or after the exhibition. Sales will be conducted solely through negotiation of the Artist and patron, with DMAContemporary providing the Artist with the necessary information in which to contact a patron. 13. Selection of art is at the full discretion of the Juror, and the Juror may select multiple works by the same artist. The Juror has sole discretion as to the physical make-up of the exhibition, and there is no specification as to equality of numbers of mediums or styles or content presented for the exhibition. The Director does have advisement rights to the Juror about the final number of selected artworks, so as to curate the available exhibition space for an adequate show--but will not advise the Juror on merits of individual artworks leading to final selection. 14. The Artist AGREES TO ALL TERMS AS LISTED HERE, AND IN THE PROSPECTUS.
