A Juried Fine Arts ONLINE EXHIBITION presented by the Marin Society of Artists, open to all artists over the age of 18. This show will showcase artwork in a diverse range of medium, subjects and styles. Open to sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, all types of fine art crafts, fabric art and more. (No video or film).

The Marin Society of Arts (MSA) is a non-profit artist organization dedicated since 1927 to promoting the arts and providing a broad array of arts opportunities.  MSA presents a calendar of exhibitions both in its main gallery and ONLINE highlighting a variety of artistic expression - painting, sculpture, photography and more.

EXHIBITION DATES: November 7, 2020 through January 16, 2021.

RECEPTION:  A virtual ZOOM reception will be held on Sunday, November 15 at 5pm  (PST). Details and the link to the ZOOM will be released well in advance.

DEADLINE TO ENTER: October 16, 2020.

FRESH ART 2020 is open to all
artists, age 18 and over. You are invited to submit digital images of up to a total of Ten (10) of your original works, not previously shown in a Marin Society of Artists juried exhibition. This call invites artists to interpret their ideas, thoughts, emotions, their creative vision; what they see, feel and express through their art. Open to painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, art of the book, fiber art and all types of fine art crafts, ceramics and more. No video, film or installations accepted. Only online entries with digitally uploaded images to CaFE will be accepted. Digital entries must be RECEIVED via the CaFE application by Friday, October 16, 2020 before 11:59pm Mountain Time Zone. Notification of acceptance will be by email and an online list of accepted artwork entries on the MSA website.

How do you define "Fresh Art"?  Something new and different, new to one's experience, not encountered before, or a new approach to your art. Artwork that is forward or bold, expressive, engaging, stimulating, creative, infused with imagination - what new directions are you taking with your art?  Show us.

Jen Tough is the owner and director of Jen Tough Gallery, a contemporary art gallery founded in the San Francisco Bay Area and now based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Known for thinking outside of the box with popup exhibitions, workshop programs and art fair artist collectives, Tough is passionate about curating exhibitions, discovering new talent and exploring innovative ways to engage with artists and collectors in a rapidly evolving art market. Jen attended The Art Academy of Cincinnati, earned a BFA in fine arts with honors from Ohio State University, and studied in West Africa with Parsons School of Design.  Her design style and art direction earned her several awards and named as “one to watch” for the 2000’s in Metropolis Magazine.  In response to Covid19, Jen Tough created the Artist Alliance, an online artist community that is a featured innovator at TEDxMarin, Fall 2020.

AWARDS:
First Prize: $500.  Second Prize: $300.  Third Prize: $100.  Non-monetary Honorable Mention awards may be given at the Juror's discretion.

ENTRY DETAILS: A non-refundable entry fee will be charged.
Non-members of MSA: $35 for 3 entries, $7 for each additional entry up to (10) pieces.
MSA members: $30 for 3 entries (with coupon code), $7 for each additional entry up to (10) pieces.
Payments to be made by credit card, debit (VISA or MC) or PayPal through the CaFE application. Diptychs and triptychs count as one piece, use only one image of the entire diptych or triptych. Fee payment does not guarantee that any/all artworks submitted for jurying will be included in the exhibition.    

MSA members with award vouchers should contact shows@msartists.org for a coupon code. Vouchers do not cover 100% of the entry fee.  MSA members needing the member coupon code should also contact shows@msartists.org

All properly prepared entries (refer to digital file image requirements) will be viewed and judged by the juror. The decision of the juror is final. No more than 2 works by any one artist will be included in the final juried selection.  If your work is misrepresented, we reserve the right to refuse to feature your artwork on the Online Gallery.

NOTE: Marin Society of Artists has no prohibition against displaying art depicting nudity or political issues. However, it reserves the right to refuse artwork which, in the opinion of the Board of Directors will be offensive to visitors or any of its members.

ENTRY PROCEDURE AND DIGITAL IMAGE FORMAT:
Entry instructions may be found on our website: 
https://www.marinsocietyofartists.org or on CaFE. If you are already registered with CaFE, you may use your existing username and password to enter this show. All entries must be submitted with digital images and must adhere to CaFE requirements.
Your entries must first be uploaded to "My Portfolio" on the CaFE application. You then choose images from your "Portfolio" to be entered in FRESH ART 2020.
- Image Format:  JPG or JPEG 
- Dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side. CaFE may readjust your dimensions after entry to fit the limitations. Size: under 5 MB
- Please check your entries for accuracy and typos.  No changes to title, price, or other material information will be permitted after October 16, 2020.

ACCEPTED ARTWORK NOTIFICATION:
Artists will receive email notices of accepted artwork on October 29, 2020, (by midnight
PDT). A SEPARATE email notice will be sent on the same date showing non-accepted artwork. In addition, a list of the accepted artwork will be posted on the MSA website: https://www.marinsocietyofartists.org/.  

SALES:
By submitting work for exhibition, the Artist chooses to offer their work for sale. The Artist's email contact information will be posted along with their artwork image on the Online Gallery show so that the Artist can be contacted by potential buyers. The Artist may choose to show their artist website link, their phone number, or no contact information by indicating such on their CaFE entry. The "Show Price" indicated for each work on the entry form will be the list price for said work on the Online Gallery Show. This price does not include shipping and handling costs. The artist will handle the sale of their artwork and shipping thereof. Any interested purchaser will contact the artist directly regarding purchase of artist's work. 100% of the sale of work will go to the artist; no commission to MSA.
