The St. Louis Arts Chamber of Commerce invites artists of all mediums to participate in the inaugural, juried Greater St. Louis Holiday Arts Expo! This year’s virtual gallery will launch on Small Business Saturday (November 28, 2020). Programming, including opportunities for artists to interact with patrons via live streaming, will take place November 28-30. Access and promotion of the virtual gallery will remain live until Valentine’s Day (Sunday, February 14, 2021).  

Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to use this opportunity to develop additional income streams during this usually quiet time for creatives. Nonprofit organizations are also encouraged to highlight their mission, solicit donations (especially in conjunction with #GivingTuesday), and promote the sales of their tickets/memberships/services. 

Artists and organizations will be able to display their work in photos, video and audio files, as well as have opportunities to interact with visitors via live streaming and other facilitated communications.

Artists must be at least 18 years of age. Up to five (5) entries may be submitted (three for audio or video). Include a short bio and artist statement about your work. Artwork must be original (not copied from other art or made from a kit) and completed within the last three years.

Please submit high quality professional images of your artwork. Images should be cropped appropriately.

Images

• File Type: JPEG or JPG only.

• File Dimensions: 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side.

• File Size: Under 5 MB.

• Color Profile: sRGB

Audio

• File Type: AIFF, WAV, XMF, MP3.

• File Size: Under 10 MB.

• Bit rate: minimum 96 kpbs–maximum 320 kbps

• Codec: aiff, wav, au

Video

• File Type: MOV, MP4, WMV, 3GP, AVI, ASF, MPG, M2T, MKV, M2TS.

• File Size: Under 100 MB.

• Resolution: minimum 640 x 480, maximum 1920 x 1080

• Aspect ratio: 4:3 or 16:9

• Bit rate: recommended above 240 kbps

• Frame rate: minimum 12 fps, recommended 30 fps.

Currently, linked media from YouTube, Vimeo, etc. is not accepted.

2020 Expo Participation:

• Jury fee is $22 for members of the St. Louis Arts Chamber; $27 for nonmembers.

• Submissions are due by 11:59 pm (MST) on Friday, November 13, 2020. Artists will be notified no later than November 17. 

• If accepted, virtual booth fee is $50 for members; $80 for nonmembers.

• All pieces up for sale must be submitted by November 20. Additionally pieces can be submitted after the launch of the virtual gallery as items are sold. 

• Works sold through the Holiday Arts Expo virtual gallery will incur a commission fee of 15% for members; 25% for nonmembers.
