“Impressions – the Art of the Print” A statewide juried exhibition Open to Arizona artists only.

“ImPRESSions” is a statewide regional juried exhibit of original printmaking art. All printmaking methods are accepted. The goal of the exhibit is to present original printmaking methods and to educate visitors about printmaking as an art form and the difference between the art form of printmaking versus the reproduction of art called a “print.”

The exhibit is open to artists residing in the state of Arizona.

Monday, January 25, 2021: Application deadline.

Tuesday, January 26 – Monday, February 1, 2021: Online jury process.

Wednesday, February 3, 2021: Notifications to artists

Wed - Mon, February 17- 22 2021: Shipped work due

Monday, February 22, 2021: Hand delivery of artwork due

Friday, February 26, 2021: Virtual Opening Reception

Monday, April 5, 2021: Pick up of artwork

Week of April 12th, 2021: Shipped work sent out

This juried exhibit will present the many different types of printmaking methods, including monotype, etchings, drypoint, lithography, woodcut, linocut, collagraph, and screenprint. Final printed substrate does not have to be paper. Work must have been completed within the last 24 months.  Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible.  All work must be the original creation of the artist.

ARTWORK:

No art may be removed from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibition on Sunday, February 21, 2021, including sold art.

JUROR: David Andres

David Andrés is an internationally known artist, an award-winning educator, a museum board member and, for the past ten plus years, director and curator of the Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery at Pima Community College West. All this in addition to teaching courses at PCC in gallery and museum studies, printmaking and design.

Awards will be selected by the juror in person and presented during the virtual ZOOM opening reception.

PRESENTATION:

All artwork must arrive ready to hang.  If framed, work must be suitably matted, (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired. No sawtooth hangers.  TCA reserves the right to disqualify any selected entry upon arrival that does not meet the above requirements or is deemed unsuitable for display.

JURY/FEES

Payments are made at the end of the CaFE™ entry process either via credit card online or a check mailed to the art center. 

Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images in a jpg format only. Up to three works may be entered for consideration.

The Member discount code is PRINT21 which is entered at checkout.  You must be a current member to use the discount code.  Any submissions by nonmembers taking the member discount will be disqualified from the jurying process without refund. Members receive discounts on fees to all exhibitions as well as discounts in our gift shop and to special events. SALES:

All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a 40% commission.  Price work accordingly. 

SHIPPING:

Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA.  Unsold work will be shipped back to the artist after close of the exhibition.  Artists must provide a barcoded preprinted PREPAID shipping label for the return of their artwork.  Please, no Styrofoam peanuts.
