The Village Theatre Art Gallery is a Town-owned and operated art gallery in a charming community 30 miles east of San Francisco. The gallery is located downtown within the historical Village Theatre. The Gallery has approximately 1300 feet of exhibition space and enjoys a steady stream of foot-traffic. During times of COVID, the Gallery has shifted to hosting more online, Virtual Tours and Virtual Artist Talks and still has a consistent following and engagement with clients and artists.
To start 2021 off right, the Gallery is asking artists to show us which artists’ works they find uplifting and inspiring. The Gallery wishes to promote fresh works that bring a sense of appreciation for all artists who inspire, living or from history. Artists look to other artists to learn about new ways to create. Artwork elicits a visceral reaction from the viewer—which artist’s work speaks to your soul and why? Was it the subject matter? The use of color, line and shape? The use of negative space? There are endless qualities that bring about emotion in artwork; clay and paint, film and other media can convey a mood and tell a story that that sometimes just speaks right to its viewer. This exhibition will strive to show off an array of styles, subject matter and media. This will be an exhibition that leaves revelers of art feeling inspired. The Village Theatre Art Gallery invites artists to submit original artwork that was influenced and inspired by another artist.
