About the Exhibition Program: Each year Artistry presents approximately seven exhibitions in each the Inez Greenberg Gallery and the Atrium Gallery showcasing artistically excellent artwork executed in a variety of media and styles that express a wide range of creative voices.

Emerging and established artists, artist groups, and exhibit curators residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin who are 18 years or older are invited to submit a proposal for the 2023 exhibition program. All proposals must be received by March 31, 2021 to be considered and a $25 non-refundable application fee is required.

Proposals will be reviewed by a curatorial panel who will select proposals based upon the following criteria:

  • Quality of the artwork/artistic excellence
  • Creativity and originality
  • Technical skills
  • Overall exhibition proposal

Selected artists may be combined (by Artistry) to create a small group show or chosen for a solo exhibition to create a dynamic and exciting exhibition program for the given year that showcases a variety of visual art mediums, subjects, and techniques by a wide range of creative voices (i.e., a variety of ethnic, cultural, and gender representation) while always expressing a high standard of artistic excellence. In addition to proposals selected through a jury panel process, Artistry may also invite exhibition curators to hand select artists for a particular exhibition or invite artists directly to exhibit. Applicants will be notified by May 31, 2021 of the curatorial panel's decision.

Proposal Requirements:
All proposals must include:

  • An artist statement or proposal description of 1000 characters or less (including spaces).
  • 10 digital artwork samples saved as standard JPEGs (file dimensions should be 1200 pixels or more on the longest side; file resolution of 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution); file size under 5 MB.
  • Information about each work sample (image) including title, medium, size, and date of completion. This information will be requested when you download your images to your portfolio on CaFE™.
  • Optional resume or biographical summary (one page maximum).
  • $25 non-refundable application fee.

Groups (more than 5 artists) that submit a proposal are required to include a description of the group or arts organization in place of a Bio in the application and in addition to the proposal description. Artists who submit an individual proposal may be combined (by Artistry) with other artists to create a small group exhibition. A small group (five or fewer artists) who submit a group proposal may be split up (by Artistry) and individual artists may be invited to exhibit.
