Call Description

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the “Spring: New Beginnings” exhibit to be held at the R Gallery in Boulder, Colorado. In this exhibit, we are seeking artwork in all styles and mediums that incorporates the theme of springtime -- new life, blooming, emerging, awakening, nature, spring colors saturating the world, a welcome rebirth from the slumber of winter, and other creative concepts for the season. The show will run March 3, 2021 through April 11, 2021. The deadline for submission is midnight on February 7, 2021. 

Springtime in Colorado is known as mud season from the great melt of our snow-capped winters. A time of rebirth, when pale green buds emerge from the warming ground, trees begin to leaf, and vibrant colors glisten in the sun.

Artwork submitted for the “Spring: New Beginnings” exhibit should focus on the pieces that evoke the sense of spring season, a new start, growth. This can include the texture, emotions, colors, and concepts of springtime, a singular theme or combination of concepts that may consist of a literal representation or symbolic interpretation of the fundamental seasonal theme. 

The show will run from March 3, 2021 through April 11, 2021.

Eligibility: Colorado Residents. All entries must be of original design and personal execution.

Shipping: Accepted works must arrive no later than February 27. Work will be returned by April 15, unless otherwise agreed upon. A prepaid return label must be provided if sending the work by carrier.

Sales: All sales will be handled through R Gallery. A 50% commission will be charged unless otherwise stated in proceeding agreements. All pieces must remain up for the duration of the exhibition and must be for sale. R Gallery reserves the right to sell accepted works online during the exhibition. R Gallery will send checks to the artist for the sale of their work by the 15th of the month following the month in which the sale occurs.
