The Cape Cod Museum of Art invites all visual artists to submit their artwork to our annual National Juried Exhibition. The 2021 theme is wide open with the title: INSIGHT. When spoken, this word can be broadly understood as – Insight, In Sight and Incite. Do you have a work of art that resonates to one or more of these interpretations?

Submit an INSIGHT of your own for the opportunity to be part of this evocative exhibition taking place in our expansive Hope / McClennen exhibition hall. We will also be making this exhibition available virtually on our Museum website.

Grace Hopkins, gallery director at the Berta Walker Galleries in Provincetown, and Wellfleet, MA, will serve as the juror. In addition to selecting the artwork in this exhibition, Ms. Hopkins will select three of the works to receive awards: $500 for Juror’s Choice, $200 for Most Fitting to the Theme and $100 for Best Use of Material.

Artwork selected for the exhibition can be made available to the public for sale, with 60% of the proceeds going directly to you - the artist, and 40% to the CCMoA. We provide this option in an effort to help support artists during these demanding times, while also helping to support the CCMoA. Your sales preference and pricing will not be visible to the juror during the selection process.

IMPORTANT DATES
Final Submission Deadline: February 22, 2021
Notification: February 26, 2021

Exhibition Dates: March 18 - June 20, 2021

More about the Juror:
Grace Hopkins is the Director of Berta Walker Galleries on Cape Cod and an international guidance counselor for the arts. In a 2014 review of her own artwork in The Banner, Susan Rand Brown called Hopkins: “A photographer with the eye and soul of a painter,” and said “The images she shoots suggest the sharply angled details of a Franz Kline, geometric shapes and flat colors of her father (Budd Hopkins) or a sudden burst of translucent layers, which could have been - but definitely are not - details from a collage by Robert Motherwell. Suddenly a viewer feels surrounded by the freshness of expressionist imagery and motion, each piece different, each piece allusive yet quite original.”

ELIGIBILITY:  Open to artists working in 2D and 3D media, drawing, painting, printing, photography, collage, assemblage and sculpture. Only original works may be submitted (Giclee prints of reproduced art works are not acceptable. Digital photography is acceptable, and digital print methods may be used to produce original photographic images). This call for submission is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.

SUBMISSIONS AND FEES: The fee to enter is $25.00 for one (1) entry and $10 per each additional, up to three (3) submissions and is non-refundable. A completed application must contain: One High-Res Digital Image per Artwork Submitted (between 1mb and 5mb files), Title of Work(s), Year(s) Completed, Medium(s) and Dimensions and Artist's Statement (up to 100 words).
