TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAGE’S 11TH ANNUAL NATIONAL JURIED SHOW ELIGIBILITY All artists residing in the United States are eligible for entry. ART SPECIFICATIONS • Art must be the original work of the artist and created within the past five years. • Work previously accepted into SAGE juried exhibitions is not accepted. • 2-Dimensional Artwork must not exceed 35 inches in any one direction. • 3-Dimensional Artwork must not exceed 35 inches in width or depth, must not exceed 60 inches in height, and must not exceed 50 pounds. • For 3-Dimensional work, SAGE will provide pedestals. The artist will need to provide proper display hardware/stands for any sculpture work that cannot fit on a pedestal (maximum pedestal dimension of SAGE pedestal is 22in. by 16in. • No unfired clay sculptures will be accepted. • No photography will be accepted. • Two-dimensional artwork must be framed with an attached wire hanging that is at minimum 6 inches wide for the hanger. We cannot hang unwired frames. Frames with saw-tooth, unwired D-rings or flimsy hooks will not be hung. MARKETING & PROMOTIONAL USAGE SAGE reserves the right to use images of all artwork selected into the exhibition for marketing and promotional purposes. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS • Submissions are limited to ten entries per artist. The first artwork entered is $15 for SAGE Members and $20 for Non-Members. Artists may then submit up to 9 more artworks for an additional $5 per piece. All entry fees are non-refundable. • Artwork entered into the show must be the same artwork submitted in the online review. Substitutions will not be accepted. 2-PHASE JURY PROCESS Both phases of jurying will be done blindly (the juror will judge solely based on the image of the submitted artwork without knowing the identity of the artist). Phase 1: Phase 1 is the review of digital images to select the original art to be accepted for the art show. All artists will be notified after the Phase 1 review. Each entrant is required to submit one digital image of each piece of art. Images should be in JPEG or JPG format. Please take care in photographing your work to ensure a quality image. Phase 2: Phase 2 is the in-person jury of the original art accepted in Phase 1. Art reviewed in Phase 2 must be the same art submitted in the online review. Substitutions (including non-original prints of work) are not permitted. The juror will judge and announce the winners of the show during the Artists’ Reception on Thursday, November 4th from 5pm-7pm. We encourage all selected artists to attend the reception if possible. If you are unable to attend and if you are selected as an award-winner, you will be notified on Friday, November 5th of your award and prize. LOAN AGREEMENT You will be required to fill out and return a Loan Agreement Contract once your work has been selected in the show. Loan Agreements can be returned via email to sageinfo@sageart.org or included with your accepted artwork when it is delivered to SAGE. ART SHIPPING AND DELIVERY If your work is selected, you must either hand-deliver or ship your pieces to arrive at SAGE by Tuesday, October 12th at 5:30pm. Send art to: SAGE Community Arts, 21 W. Brundage Street Sheridan, WY 82801. Shipped artwork must be packed in a reusable shipping container that will be reused for returning your work in the event it does not sell. Do not use packing peanuts, popcorn, or coins as packing filler. If you are shipping your work, you must include a pre-paid return shipping label (printed with your address and a barcode for the shipping carrier to scan). Unsold work will not be returned without this label. SAGE will not accept money orders or postage stamps for return shipping costs on artwork. Hand-delivered artwork may be delivered during regular SAGE hours of operation. If you are not able to deliver your art during these times, please call to make special arrangements. Please label all artwork (on the back) with your name, price, title, and contact information. LIABILITY Artists are requested to carry their own insurance for shipping any artwork. SAGE Community Arts cannot assume responsibility for loss and damage incurred during transport. AWARDS All artists will receive recognition through the promotion of the exhibit. A $500 cash award will be awarded to one artist whose work is chosen as “Best of Show”. First, second, third and peoples’ choice ribbons are awarded in all categories. Winners receive $300, $200, $100 and art supply gift cards valued at $50 respectively. ART SALES All artwork submitted must be for sale at a fair market price. The price of art is determined by the artist, and SAGE is happy to consult with artists on the local art market in Sheridan, Wyoming. Please price work to sell, and consider quality, technique, and experience of you and your art. SAGE will retain 40% of the selling price for non-members and 35% of the selling price for SAGE members. You may also purchase a membership while checking out for your juried show fees on the callforentry.org website (CaFÉ). Sold artwork must remain on display for the entire duration of the show. Payments for awards and art sales will be paid directly to the entering artist. Payments to the artist for sold artwork will be issued in December 2021. RETURN OF UNSOLD ARTWORK Unsold shipped artwork will be returned in the original packaging materials. SAGE requires artists to submit a paid return label (with your address and a barcode for the shipping carrier to scan) at the time of art entry. SAGE will not accept money orders or postage stamps for return shipping costs. Unsold work will not be returned without a paid return label. Unsold hand-delivered artwork must be picked up between November 30th and December 3rd between 11 AM to 5 PM. By entering this Juried Exhibition, you agree to the above terms and conditions.
