THEME:
The Denver Architecture Foundation and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center are pleased to present their 4th annual Doors Open Denver Photography Competition, Y/OUR Denver. This is your opportunity to find and photograph your favorite areas of Denver, and enter your images into a juried competition. This call is looking for all forms of architectural imagery: black & white, color, exterior, interiors and detail images are welcome from photographers of all skill levels. Thirty images will be showcased on the Denver Architecture Foundation (DAF) and Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) websites for this online exhibition.

Applicant submission deadline: Thursday, October 28, 2021
Notice of Acceptance: Tuesday, November 16, 2021
Online Exhibition dates: December 7, 2021 – February 28, 2022

JUROR

Samantha has been the Executive Director and Curator at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center since 2015. She holds a certificate in Arts Development and Program Management from the University of Denver, an MFA from Lesley University College of Art & Design, and a BFA from Alfred University. Prior to joining CPAC, she taught photography and visual arts for 12 years at high schools in Boston and Denver.

She has curated exhibitions with contemporary artists such as Jess T. Dugan, Daniel Coburn, Barbara Ciurej & Lindsay Lochman, and Zora Murff. Samantha has served as a reviewer at Houston FotoFest, Review Santa Fe, PhotoPlus New York, Photolucida, Medium, Month of Photography (MoP), and Filter. She has juried several exhibitions including Critical Mass and The Fence.

She is a longtime member of the Society for Photographic Education, and served as Treasurer of the Southwest region from 2013-2016 and Co-Chair of SPE’s 2013 Southwest regional conference in Denver. She was named one of Colorado’s Top 100 Creatives 3.0 by Westword and has been featured in Lenscratch.

Application Requirements

ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to Colorado residents, age 18 or older. The following media are eligible: film; scanner; screen-capture; digital camera; and any means of mobile photography. No video submissions allowed.  

Photos are not limited to Doors Open Denver 2021 open sites, but must be sites within the City of Denver. (Please be aware that some sites have restrictions on interior and/or exterior photography, so please ask first.) Please list the location of the photograph in Denver.
