Call for Art: Trinity Art Show 5th Annual National Juried Exhibition

It is the mission of the Trinity Art Festival to encourage artists to create visual art providing a unique perspective on the Christian view and experience in contemporary life. The art is intended to allow personal expression and promote dialog. This year's theme from Jeremiah 30:17 is "I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord”. Accepted applicants will have their work exhibited at Sparrow Gallery in Sacramento, CA, from Oct. 9 - Nov. 5, 2021.

PRIZES: Total Cash Awards - $5,000: First place - $2,500; Second place - $1,500; 2 Honorable Mentions - $500 each

EXHIBITION DATES: Oct. 9 – Nov. 5, 2021

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 Time TBD

Juror: Fr. Michael Tang, Professor of Art & Art History, Loyola Marymount University

Juror Bio: 

Father Michael Tang received his Bachelor's degree in Studio Art from Loyola Marymount University in 1981. After earning his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1983, he taught for three years at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 1986 he began Theological Studies at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley earning two additional Master's degrees in Divinity and Theology.

Fr. Tang's works are included in numerous private and public collections nationwide including, The Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, The University of Texas at Austin; The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art, St. Louis Missouri; The National Museum of Catholic Art and History, New York City; Boston College Museum of Art, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts; The Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, CA; The American Council on Education, Washington D.C. and the International Museum of the Horse, Lexington, Kentucky.

ENTRY DEADLINE (online submission only): Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 11:59 pm MST

NOTIFICATIONS: Wednesday, Sept. 8th, 2021

Eligibility for entering the show:

• Open to all artists residing in the U.S.

• Original art work produced in the last two years depicting subject matter related to the theme of the show.

• Work cannot have been previously exhibited in Sacramento within the last two years.

• All work must be for sale and priced at $5,000 or less

ACCEPTED MEDIA: 2D and 3D art work.

SIZE RESTRICTIONS:  Please submit 2D work no larger than 40” x 40” and 3D work no taller than 7’.

INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS: Art work selected for display must be ready to be hung. Work under glass requires rigid frames. Saw tooth hangers cannot be utilized.

ENTRY FEES: $45 for up to 3 entries. $5 each additional entry. Limit of 6 entries per artist.

DELIVERY: Accepted work must be shipped or otherwise delivered to Sacramento Wed. Sept. 29 through Fri. Oct. 1, 2021 by 5 pm PST. Deliveries and/or shipments will be accepted between 11 am to 5 pm on those dates. All work MUST be received by Friday Oct. 1st for inclusion in the exhibition.

SALES: Artists receive 60% on the sale of their work.

LEGAL AGREEMENT: Selected artists agree that the work will be available for sale. Artists will receive 60% on the sale of their work.

SHIPPING: Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Please include a return shipping label.

RETURN: Unsold artwork that is not being shipped must be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 between 1pm-5pm.
