ENTRY:  Entries are due by 11:59PM on Monday, March 15th. Artists can submit online via Café or they can email their submissions to AntonioR@theartscouncil.com.  Artists must submit/email their resumes as well as a digital portfolio of 7-10 works.  Portfolio submissions should represent a recent body of work (completed in the last 3-5 years), however, if chosen, the artist may choose to select a different body of work for their artist-curated exhibition.  The Exhibitions Committee will select artists for inclusion based on submitted portfolios; works included in the exhibition will be up to the discretion of the selected artists.  All exhibited works should have been completed within the last three years and may not have been shown or previously entered into ANY Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County exhibition. 

 

ELIBIGILITY:  Artists must be at least 18 years of age and reside within North Carolina.

ENTRY FEE: There is no entry fee for this exhibition.

           

CATEGORIES/MEDIUMS: All 2D and 3D mediums to include (but not limited to):  drawing, painting, photography, animation, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, etc. When choosing your works, consider that due to COVID-19 protocols, most of your audience will be viewing your work through a virtual gallery. SPECIFICATIONS:  If selected for this exhibition, the artist will be responsible for curating and hanging their own work.  Information must be provided via email to the Exhibit Coordinator to produce labels no later than Tuesday, March 30th.  Please include each work’s title, medium, size and sales price.  If a work is not for sale, please provide insurance value.  Artists will have approximately 8-10 linear feet of space within the Arts Council’s gallery.  Location of each artist’s 8-10 linear feet will be selected through a lottery process and participants will be notified of their spaces in the acceptance email by Friday, March 19th.  The Arts Council utilizes a Walker hanging system and exhibition works should be appropriately framed with a wire hanger in order to use this system.  Artists should be prepared to hang their work IN-PERSON during Monday, May 29th through Wednesday, March 31st during regular business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).  Special arrangements may be made for after-hours access with the Exhibit Coordinator. Artists not available/able to hang their works in-person should not apply for this call. 

SALES ARE ENCOURAGED: A minimum of 50% of each artist’s works exhibited should be for sale. The Arts Council will retain 30% commission from the sales price listed on your entry form. Items not for sale must be marked NFS (Not for Sale); however, an insurance value will be required on the entry form.  Insurance value must be within range of previously sold work.

IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS:  The artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork.  Digital images submitted with the artist’s entry are for exhibition selection only and will be deleted after completion of the selection process. Artists selected to exhibit grant the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery website for promotional purposes only. The Arts Council retains no copyrights to the artist’s work.  

INSURANCE: All work is insured while at the Arts Council. Insurance value must be within range of work previously sold by the artist.

NOTIFICATION: Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than Friday, March 19th.  Notifications will be made via email.  Please type your email address carefully; if a mistake is made you will not be notified.

 

Virtual Gallery:  In lieu of an artists reception for artists and Arts Council members, the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County will invest in creating a unique 360 Virtual Gallery and will share the link to all members/artists as well as marketing and publicizing the link/gallery to our subscribers.

 

PICK UP OF INSTALLED WORKS: Installed entries may be picked up between Monday, May 17th and Wednesday, May 19th during regular business hours (9:00AM – 5:00 PM).  If you cannot pick up your work during this timeframe, please make other arrangements with the Exhibit Coordinator.  Works not picked up by this date, unless other arrangements are made, will be considered abandoned by the artist and become property of the Arts Council.
