Buckham Gallery: 2022-2023 Season Call For Entry
Solo, Group, Performance and Curatorial Submissions
2022-2023 Season Grand Prize: $1,000
Deadline: May 31, 2021

It is the mission of Buckham Gallery to enrich the cultural life of its surrounding communities by presenting a broad range of innovative contemporary art, both visual and performance, of the highest quality and standard.

The Buckham Fine Arts Project, 501 [c] 3 organization, actively encourages artists who are making unique and significant statements in their chosen disciplines by providing an exciting environment in which to display or perform their work.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2022-2023 Exhibition Season. The museum-quality gallery is 1979 square feet. Our exhibitions are open to the public five days a week and by appointment. The Buckham Fine Arts Project is pleased to announce a 2022-2023 Season Grand Prize of $1,000.

Details:
Solo, group, performance, and concept proposals of all media are welcome to apply. The 2022-2023 season runs from October 2022 to September 2023, featuring 4 to 6 week exhibitions. Solo shows generally run concurrently with one or two other artists.

Proposals must be submitted via CaFE by a representative artist or curator. This can be the artist proposing a solo exhibition for themself, a representative proposing an exhibition as part of a group, OR an independent curator(s) proposing an exhibition on behalf of an artist group.

Any A/V equipment required for the exhibit will need to be provided by the artist(s).

Installation work must be able to be installed within three days due to our short turn over time between shows.

Eligibility:
Anyone can submit a proposal. Artists should submit a strong and consistent body of work.

Delivery and Return of Work:
Artists must cover the cost to transport the artwork to and from the gallery.  All work selected for the exhibition must arrive ready to install. Works not gallery-ready, or not exhibiting good craftsmanship, may be omitted from the exhibit. Accepted work that differs significantly from the submitted images or suffers from poor presentation, will be disqualified. Please note that professional-level presentation is a must. Work may be hand delivered or shipped. Shipped works must be sent in easily reusable packaging. Exhibited works will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Works not claimed within 10 days of the end of the exhibit will become property of Buckham Gallery.

Jury:
All submissions are juried by an Exhibition Committee. Our committee is comprised of community arts professionals and Buckham Members.

Submission Fee:
$25

2022-2023 Season Grand Prize:
The Buckham Fine Arts Project will award one 2022-2023 Season Grand Prize of $1,000. The Grand Prize will be awarded to one artist or group exhibiting in the 2022-2023 season who exemplifies our mission to present contemporary art of the highest quality and standard. The award will be voted on by members of the Buckham Fine Arts Project and announced at the end of the season, October 2023. Buckham Members are not eligible to win.

Images:
Please send 8-12 images for consideration. Group and curatorial proposals may submit up to 20 images. While not absolutely necessary, it is strongly recommended for works submitted to be available for exhibit if selected. Please state in your exhibition narrative if this is a proposal for future work and images are solely an example of potential and quality.

Sale of Work:
All work, unless indicated not for sale, will be available for sale during the exhibit. Buckham Gallery will retain a commission of 35% on all artwork sold during the exhibition. The artist sets the retail price (final sale price).
