CALENDAR OF IMPORTANT DATES

  • May 14, 2021: Deadline for receipt of entries
  • ​May 16, 2021: Early drop-off begins (optional early drop off dates and times for those artists who are not comfortable being around a crowd.   • June 6, 2021: Regular drop-off day - no appointment needed
  • June 7, 2021: Judging
  • June 9, 2021: Juried artists and artwork announced via social media & posted on website
  • June 11, 2021:  Award Winners announced via social media platforms, website and online gallery IHAGallery.org
  • June 12, 2021: Open House - Award Winners to be presented with their awards at 4 pm. Attendance by advanced reservations only | 3-5 pm and 5-6:30 pm. Make your reservation online today
  • June 12 - July 10, 2021: Exhibition & Sale Dates
  • July 11-16 2021: Artists pick-up of any unsold artwork, please call the Gallery to schedule a day and time
ELIGIBILITY
  • Artist must be 18 years or older, current resident or former resident of Indiana
  • Artist must be a current member of Indiana Heritage Arts, Inc. Memberships can be renewed or become a member with your entry. Entry fee $30, annual dues $35. Both fees must be paid with entry submission. No refunds
  • IHA board members are eligible to exhibit, however they are exempt from receiving awards
  • Each artist may enter up to 3 paintings for consideration
ELIGIBLE WORK
  • Two-dimensional work only
  • Painting: oils, acrylics, alkyd, watercolor, casein and egg tempera, pastels, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media
  • Work not on canvas must be under glass or plexi​
  • Work should be executed in the spirit of the traditional early Indiana artists
  • IHA strongly encourages artists to submit their best and freshest works
  • Photography or computer art is not allowed
  • Work completed under the supervision of an instructor, copies of other artists; works or published photographs are prohibited
RULES
  • All submitted work must be available for purchase
  • Maximum framed size: 57" x 57"
  • Work must be properly framed and ready to hang
  • Frames must be sturdy enough to support the artwork and in good repair
  • Frame must be wired for hanging, strap hangers only
  • IHA reserves the right to reject inadequate framing; mats and glass must be clean
  • Wet paintings or gallery wraps are not permitted
  • NO exception to these rules
  • Failure to meet these rules will result in rejection of work and admittance in show
  • Show committee will have the final decision

We will award over $20,000 in cash awards.

  • Ada Shulz & C. Curry Bohm Awards - to encourage entries in the spirit of the artists. Ada Shulz - works featuring children with pets or figures in gardens. Bohm Award - Winter scenes or street scenes of Nashville, Indiana
SALES
  • ​All paintings must be available for sale during the exhibition
  • Sales may be made in person at the Brown County Art Gallery and/or through our online gallery: IHAGallery.org
  • Indiana Heritage Arts, Inc. retains a 33% commission on all sales
  • Prices may not be changed after submission
  • Indiana Heritage Arts, Inc. will collect and remit Indiana Sales Tax
  • All sold artwork will remain on display throughout the Exhibition & Sale. Artwork may be picked up between July 11-16, 2021
DELIVERY OF WORK
We will once again offer early drop-off dates and times for those artists who are not comfortable being around a crowd. Once you have received an email confirmation of your entry, visit our website IndianaHeritageArts.org for details of how to make an online appointment. 
  • We will email each entrant a pdf file with their detailed painting tags within a week of receiving their Cafe entry confirmation. 
  • These tags are to be securely attached to the back of each painting
  • Should you need additional tags or have an entry change, blank tags will be available during drop off at the gallery
  • Drop-offs will be in the Stevens Art Studio; entrance is on your right as you are walking up to the gallery
  • All COVID19 protocols will be in effect, masks and social distancing are required while inside
  • The gallery office will be closed to artists
HOW TO ENTER

You are required to upload images of your work. We are asking for 1 unframed image per entry. Here is how to prepare your images for upload:

  1. JPEG file format only
  2. File dimensions: no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side
  3. File size: 5 MB maximum
  4. Orientation: ensure your image is properly oriented (vertical or horizontal)
  5. 1 image per entry, unframed
  6. No digital enhancement to the image is allowed
  7. No slides or photographs will be accepted
  8. It is in your best interest to submit a high resolution, high quality image
  9. These images will also be used for our online store
Prepare your digital images before you apply, we suggest naming each file with your name and the title of your artwork. If you are not already registered with CaFÉ, you can set up a portfolio free of charge. The $30 entry fee and $35 IHA 2021 Membership fee are non-refundable.

  • Support with uploading media or questions about system specifications
  • Errors on the CaFÉ website preventing you from completing an action
  • Assistance with a website feature or understanding website options
  • If the CaFÉ website is inaccessible. Contact CaFÉ. 
From Indiana Heritage Arts....
  • CaFÉ is our new online registration format. All entries must be made online through CaFÉ
  • You will receive a confirmation email from CaFÉ once you complete your online application with a PDF file of your painting tags.
  • You must print and securely attach the tags to the back of each of your paintings 
  • Late entries will not be accepted
  • New entries will not be accepted on drop-off days
  • All IHA members will be listed on the IHA website - IndianaHeritageArts.org
  • A list of juried artists and accepted works will be posted on our IHA website and social media platforms on June 9, 2021
  • Award winners will be posted on our IHA website, social media platforms, and our online gallery IHAGallery.org on June 11, 2021 after 6 pm  
  • All works not juried into the show will be available for pickup June 10. Please call the gallery in advance to schedule a time for pickup - 812.988.4609
