2021 San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild    

SUMMER EXHIBITION 

an international juried online exhibition  

June 1, 2021 – July 31, 2021 

DEADLINE TO ENTER - Midnight Saturday, May 15, 2021 

It is our pleasure to invite artists to submit their art for our annual juried Summer Exhibition. This juried online exhibition is a continuation of this prestigious guild’s 106 year tradition of putting on juried exhibitions. Open to all artists working in all 2D and 3D media. This open call is an excellent opportunity for artists, from around the world, to show their work and have their talent recognized. Monetary awards will be given for the top seven artworks, as selected by the guest juror.  

 

JUROR: ANITA FELDMAN, Deputy DirectorCuratorial Affairs & Education at the San Diego Museum of Art 

 

Anita Feldman joined The San Diego Museum of Art as Director of Curatorial Affairs in May 2014. Prior to this, Ms. Feldman was Head of Collections and Exhibitions for the Henry Moore Foundation in England, curating exhibitions of his work worldwide. She received a degree in American and Modern Art at the University of California Los Angeles and organized exhibitions for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Her publications include the definitive books on Moore’s textiles and his original plasters, as well as a new perspective on Rodin and exhibition catalogues worldwide.

ELIGIBILITY - Open to all artists with all2D and 3Dmedia being eligible with the following exceptions:  

  • Submitted work must be original and must not have been exhibited in an Artists Guild exhibition in the past.  

  • NO REPRODUCTIONS.  NO VIDEOS.  

  • NO COPIES of other artists’ works will be accepted. 

  • NO EXCEPTIONS. 

AWARDS - 1st Place $1,000, 2nd Place $500, 3rd Place $300. With four Honorable Mention awards at $50 each. All award winners will also receive a certificate and will be featured on the Artists Guild website. 

 

ENTRY FEE: 

Artists Guild members: $20 for one artwork and $5 for each additional work, up to 5 images.  

Non-members: $30for one artwork and $10 for each additional artwork, up to five images. 

Entry fees must be paid by the entry deadline. Submit artwork online.  Image submitted must be a true representation of the original.  Acceptance is not guaranteed.  Entry fee is not refundable.

May 15 - Saturday– 11:59 p.m. MDT - Deadline for Entries 

May 30 & 31 - Sunday & Monday - Acceptance/Non-Acceptance notification sent by email 

June 1- Tuesday – Exhibition opens on line 

July 31- Sunday – Exhibition closes 

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES 

Entering Your Images: 

·    Upload your images to your CaFÉ portfolio

·         List sizes up to the nearest inch. Submitted images must not include matting or frame. Crop the photos to include only the artwork. Be sure your images are right side-up. 

·         Images must meet the following requirements:  

     * File Type: JPEG or JPG only. 

     * File Dimensions: 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side. 

     * File Size: Under 5 MB. 

     * Color Profile: sRGB
