School of Art and Design Alumni Exhibition 2021

Exhibition dates: August 25 to September 25, 2021

Reception: Friday, September 3, 5-8 pm, all venues (ECU, local, and state policies permitting)

The School of Art and Design invites alumni to submit one piece created within the past five years for inclusion in the 2021 Alumni Exhibition. To enter the exhibition, alumni must be a member of the Friends of the School of Art and Design. A discounted Alumni Exhibition rate of $40 is available, and alumni who graduated within the past five years may join for only $25 at this link.

The Exhibition is Hosted by:

  • Wellington B. Gray Gallery, ECU
  • Greenville Museum of Art
  • Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge
  • Janice Hardison Faulkner Gallery, Joyner Library, ECU

The exhibition will also be available virtually through the School of Art and Design at art.ecu.edu

For this exhibit the artist will not pay a fee to Cafe', however the application will not complete and upload if the payment process is not completed. 

Entries are due by Friday July 9, 2021 at midnight, MST, via Cafe online. Entries via mail and/or email will not be accepted. Work will be exhibited between the Gray Gallery in Jenkins Fine Arts Center, the Faulkner Gallery in JY Joyner Library, Emerge Gallery, and the Greenville Museum of Art. Venue placement is based on installation and space requirements.

Alumni will be notified of their venue placement no later than July 30, 2021.

Artwork may be dropped off August 13 and 14. Artwork may be shipped directly to the venue but must have a PRE-PAID return shipping label. Artists are responsible for shipping artwork to the venue, and the cost of return shipping. Venues will not pay for return shipping. Artwork will be insured through each venue; each venue will provide a contract for the artwork loan.

Artwork Requirements:

  • Maximum dimensions: 6 feet x 6 feet.
  • Ready to hang/install. Venues will not provide hanging devices, framing, or matting.
  • No sawtooth hangers or magnets for hanging.
  • Created within the past five years.
  • Artwork exhibited at Emerge Gallery & Art Center can be for sale; Emerge will retain 40% of the sale price, however, the artwork will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition as per contract signed between the artist and Emerge.

Artwork Drop off or Delivery

  • August 13 and 14, 2021
    • Greenville Museum of Art: 10 am to 4:30 pm
    • Emerge Gallery: 10 am to 4 pm
    • Faulkner Gallery: 10 am to 4:30 pm
    • Gray Gallery: 10 am to 4:30 pm

Artwork Pick up

  • September 25 to October 2; contact your venue for specific date and times for pickup.
