Textiles have been a fundamental part of human life since the beginning of civilization.The word textile is from Latin texere which means "to weave," "to braid," or "to construct." Textile arts are works that use plant, animal, or synthetic fibers to construct practical or decorative objects using a variety of methods of construction. 

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the “Textile / Fiber Fine Arts” exhibit to be held at the R Gallery in Boulder, Colorado. In this exhibit, we are seeking to showcase a wide range of outstanding contemporary works related to the fiber medium. Artwork submitted should primarily be able to be hung on gallery walls.There will be limited space for works requiring free-standing or pedestal display. 

R Gallery's goal is to create exhibits that showcase the many different styles of Colorado's talented artists. You are welcome to submit multiple images, however we normally select only one piece from each selected artist. If submitting fewer than three artworks, you will need to fill in the remaining required entries with duplicate images (i.e. submit your first entry twice).

The show will run from May 26 through June 27. The deadline for submission is midnight on May 2. 

R Gallery is a fine art gallery in downtown Boulder, Colorado, which opened March 2019. The gallery showcases exclusively Colorado artists working in a range of styles and mediums.

Size: It is best to submit pieces less than 30" wide, including frame or case. We only have a few spots for pieces up to 48" wide.

Shipping: Accepted works must arrive no later than the end of the drop off period. Work will be shipped within 14 days of the close of the exhibit unless otherwise agreed upon. A prepaid return label must be provided if sending the work by carrier.

Sales: All sales will be handled through R Gallery. A 50% commission will be charged. All pieces must remain up for the duration of the exhibition and must be for sale. R Gallery reserves the right to sell accepted works online during the exhibition. R Gallery will send checks to the artist for the sale of their work by the 15th of the month following the month in which the sale occurs.
